Are you 1 sticking with the step?

I generally avoid giving climbing advice.

I have not used this stick for one stick climbing.

Not OP but I had the same question, not necessarily your climbing method per se, but because the video only showed the single JX3 stick, I was wondering what carrying all of them looked and felt like and how that changed your setup, if at all.

Gotcha.

Only difference is there’s three more sticks stacked on there. Bungee on bottom still functions same way. I bundle the four sticks together with 3 of the ropes, then use the fourth to wrap around load lifters as shown in video. Nothing changes really, other than it’s annoying to carry that much weight in sticks.

John designed them to go on the hybrid the opposite direction. My seat is a bastard take off, so they don’t connect that way. I prefer them this way anyway.

Cool set up and ideas for gear attaching/lashing. I like the being able to attach to the pack without removing the pack. I don’t know how I could use it practically now but I’ll keep it in the thought vault for future set ups. You can tell lots of thought and trial and error went into making that set up practical for you. The most modded out JX3 you’ll find haha

I didn’t say I’ve never climbed with one stick. I said I’ve never used THAT stick for one stick climbing. But I think it’s a really good one for that type of climbing if that’s your jam.

This stick has been my platform all season, and likely will continue to be. Simple set up, and with the climbing sling aider, 3’ extra feet of height.

You already answered but I was more curious of what method you were using. I keep staring at my Gen1 and thinking about some of the mods you have done. I 100% feel I don’t give mine the use I should and maybe that’s because it’s just not “ built “ how I would have done it. Who knows what the off season may bring?!?! Thanks though for all the info you share about this system it really does help.

Bump.

I had a kid since I recorded this. Staring at all this crap in a tote trying to figure out what hairbrained ideas I came up with. Watched this video, and in ten minutes I was ready to hunt again.

Write stuff down boys and girls. Your brain is not as good as recorded information!

It will only get worse...I promise. Having a second always seems to help though
