I always wear Mechanics gloves when climbing. They provide protection from sharp bark and such. Plus if I were ever to lose my step, and put the linemen’s rope to use I think being able to aggressively grab the tree would be very helpful.

I’ve thought about Mechanics Wear gloves in the past. Never gave it much thought when I started using a hand muff. Even think they come in camo.

I wear gloves walking and climbing. Once settled to hunt, I put Hot Hands Super Warmers in my jacket pockets and stick my bare hands in there and while on stand I'm usually manipulating the warmer and sometimes take them out and give them a shake to get more air to them. I have muffs, but prefer to have 1 fewer thing with me.

Mechanix wear now makes a full line of various hunting/tactical gloves of various thickness and features. They are mostly what I wear. For early season in the rain, I wear Venom super thick latex/whatever material gloves.
