Those of you who’ve played around with GM 2, how did you quiet it down? I’ve gotten 2 amsteel silencers on it, going to mess with BH a little more.

It’s just a bit louder than I’d like but it’s a shooter and def wanna have some fun with it in the woods

I haven't specifically shot the Hoyt but in addition to playing around with brace height, maybe some stick on vibration dampeners, limb dampeners (between limb and string), add some arrow weight with some screw in adapters and maybe use a vibration reducing stabilizer. It'll probably sound silly but make sure the limb bolts are good and tight. I had a bow that had them back off a bit and it made a weird noise until I realized what was going on.

Unless it's really loud, there's probably not a lot of need to worry when hunting since the arrow will probably get to the animal before there's much time for it to react.

Mine was loud and there wasn't much I could do with it except fling a heavy arrow.

You can also stick the loop side of velcro to the limb pad so there's a buffer between it and the limb.

Added some weight to an arrow and it calmed it down a good bit. BH was already at 8” and didn’t want to increase it anymore.

May try the limb pad with the soft velcro

I added a decent amount of string weight to mine. I used paracord for string silencers. If I recall correctly I used 4 sets( 2 on top, 2 on bottom) of 4 inch sections. Then added 4 brass nocks to top and bottom and shrink wrapped them like speed nocks on a compound. It helped a lot. That along with limb pads really quited it down. I can't remember arrow weight but I know it was high. I was shooting a 31 inch arrow at a 27 inch draw weight. With a 300 spine arrow and 375 on the front end to break down spine. Beaman ICS hunter. Wasn't perfect but quited everything down and shot straight. Brace was 7 3/4.

Padding the area where the string contacts the limb, string puff and arrow weight should get it plenty quiet enough. The limb savers will help too but add a lot of weight to the limb and I just dont like that. You might want to have someone else shoot your bow so you can stand away from it a bit and hear what it sounds like. I though my bow was louder than it should be until I did that. Found that it was a lot quieter than it sounded when I was the one shooting it.

Have amsteel silencers on it now, and pads on backside? Of limb where string contacts. That’s a good idea. I’ll try videoing myself shoot it too, see what the sounds like

Yeah I did the 1/4 and 1/3 positions. So they aren’t evenly spaced but only have 2 total, not 2 for each

Typically, I would recommend keeping a set at the same points. The quarter points are usually where the most vibration comes off the string, and once you have that covered, if needed, I would add a set at the tertiary points.
