Gone soft, southern public, mobile system

I can give u some measurements but it's pretty self explanatory.....I built it based on my height and step height preference

2nd hunt with all the soft stuff..... worked perfect. Hiked 6-8 miles through some pretty thick stuff, never got hung up and slipped through the small opening easily. It was 90 degrees and the vest didn't get me overheated and drenched in sweat. The soft platform is getting better as it gets broke in. I find myself leaning/standing a lot more than before with a metal platform. No foot or ankle fatigue. Still plan on making a 3rd stirrup... the double leapfrog works good ascending but I'd prefer to have 3 the climb down. All in all im real pleased with how my stuff is working out

How does the soft platform do when trying to stand up?

Standing up vertical is no issue.....just have to point your toes out and put your instep closer to the tree. From the time I get on till I step off the platform I'm only standing vertical for a sec to raise up my tether. Once im tethered into the bridge im leaning back on the 45 degree angle.

It's a squishy knot on the tree.....once the ocb buckle is tights its locked on....the canvas grips on the bark also....It is deceiving cause it looks heavy.....I've never weighed it but it feels about the same as the 2 stirrups with ropes. I'll try to get a weight later today . I need to buy a scale....I use the one at work

Whatd you fill it with?

Thanks for the rabbit hole link - lol, hows your foot traction on the cloth?

Knowing me if I tried that side pressure angle like you my foot would slide right off

Well if there's no noise from the foam I can't find anything wrong with it, nice job! Keep us posted on how your next sits go

Found the vest, well the closest thing I could find but not exactly. Found a product/company name by Mil-Tec, but made by Sturm. The distinctive feature is that it has a main zipper and two side pocket zippers right in the front. Mil-Tec has a couple of versions, 12 pocket, 9 pocket & 8 pocket. Some are on Amazon about $65. It may be a German company (Mil-Tec/Sturm) since one of their camo options is Flecktarn. Some have a pouch on the back for a water bladder or whatever else and some just molle straps. Various versions have lots of other molle. Some descriptions say the pouches are removable. Some say they have a holster in the "napoleon pocket". This is hard to find at a reasonable price. I did find one on clearance at Sportsmansguide and one on clearance on Amazon. They may be discontinued as they are not on the Sturm Mil-tec website. Good luck if you've been looking for this, hope it helps. If you search carefully and look at other sellers on Amazon you can find it for < $50, sometimes <$30...
