What climbing sticks are good for beginners or good overall? 2 step vs 3 step? Been looking at the Hawk Helium 20" 2 step steps, partially because i like the Hawk products as I have a few of their ladder stands. Super lightweight isn't a huge factor either as I'm not walking more than a mile or so most the time. Never used anything other than a ladder stand, so this is completely new to me.

The helium sticks would be a solid choice to start with. They are about the cheapest option, you can choose between the 20" or the 30" length, they have double steps which is a definite benefit, they pack together fairly well with the new suction cups on them, and they are reasonably light weight for what they are.
Are there lighter, more pack-able sticks out there..yes, but you will spend a whole lot more $$.

^^^ This is very true. With versa straps, my four 20” hawk helium’s are 9 lbs.

Light enough for me and the wife is a lot happier at a price point of under $150. lol
