Grim Reaper

I ran the razor tip 100s on 390-430 gr arrows (some changes in there) and let’s say I killed just shy of 3 dozen deer of varying sizes with them and varied yardages. Most of these had outstanding blood trails and performance with a few bent or broken blades in the mix. Had one or two lost deer that may have been may fault with high shots. I had three failures that id blame on the head. Two of these were mature bucks and one a doe. Both bucks were broadside 30yds and the head deflected backward and buried in the back leg. Both were obviously killed and later found. One had a fair trail the other had little to no. The third failure was a doe. Hard quartering away and I hit the last rib and it rode down her side opening her hide up like a can. I was able to kill her a few weeks later and it was unbelievable how well she healed. Just my experiences and no I don’t know of a better head- just switched to coc fixed for the KISS approach.

Devistating when placed right. Harvested many whitetail with mine. Got tired of replacing blades though. Switched to fixed heads, still replace heads but at a much lower rate.

Is all this from a 70lbs bow with 400ish grain? Can you guys provide me with your setup? I'm only shooting 60lbs and wondering if that's enough. Just curious for next season setup. I gave up on Rage but am considering other style that does not required O rings etc. Idiot proof, as you say.

i shot 60 lbs at 30 inches (btw, draw weight without draw length is not that informative....since a 28 inch draw at 70 is like a 60 lbs at 30 inches) with a 400 grain arrow and 1 3/8" cut grim reapers and it blew deer like jello, broke a deer's spine with one

I've shot a bunch of deer with the1 3/8" 3 blades out of a 56 pound setup at 27.5". The only time I ever had an issue was when I drilled one in the shoulder, and that was on me, not the broadhead.

I've had a good experience with the 13/8 razor cut's great blood trail and went down within 35 yards

I’m thinking about trying the four blade hades. I’ve shot the mechs in the past. Good quality great services.

A few years back I tried them, I’ll share my experiences for what they’re worth. I shot two deer, a doe with a 1 3/4 grim reaper and was surprised at how little the wound was, and not a great amount of blood. It did the job, deer died well within 100 yards but I'm sure all three blades did not deploy. Same year I put a bad shot on a buck, it was a low grazing shot but the reaper opened and really gashed him. I was lucky enough to kill it with a follow up but I used a fixed blade for that. It seemed to me the mechanism required a little attention before I could trust them also. Out of the pack some opened slicker than others. I haven’t bought any since.
