Gun cleaning rest

What’s everyone’s thoughts on a gun cleaning rest, home made or store bought? My first hunting rifle is scheduled to show up on Monday and I got everything all set minus a rest. Should I make it or put the money towards something already set to go? What’s everyone here using?

For cleaning only check out the ones made by Tipton. https://www.tiptonclean.com/gun-vises/
My dad and I have had one for years cleaning many different rifles from flintlocks to AR's. Also use it for mounting scopes as well. Also get yourself a good bore guide made for your rifle, they really help protect your chamber and bore.

Not specifically designed for guns or bows, but I have this vise that holds either reasonably well. I can fit the riser or bottom limbs in it on my bow, and it's also wide and sturdy enough to hold my rifles.
