Im looking to buy my first saddle and from what I’ve seen in my opinion the h2 seems to be the best deal. Does anyone currently use one if so how do you like it and how does it compare to other saddles

Like it so much I haven’t needed to look for other saddles. Before I got it I tried the Mantis and Trophyline Ambush. Each had things I didn’t like. In terms of comfort and performance.

Also, I was able to communicate pretty easily with Mr. Hart. After the headache of dealing with the Tethrd customer service, that went a long way.

Where you located, would be nice if you could locate someone near you. The people on this site are very willing to help with a trial run?

Did you purchase the triad bridge?

i like my h2. i tried a sitdrag/rch combo, an old school neoprene trophyline, a mantis before i got my h2. what are you looking to know about them?

The H2 is comfortable and a good deal. Those are reasons to buy it. The cruzr is better and more expensive and a bit heavier. The recon is comfortable and a good deal too and light.

Negative. Bought mine before the triad.

I have installed a diy utilibridge with some redneck comfort channels. No noticeable difference imo meaning I can sit all day with or without them.

I bought the triad bridge. I like it a lot. I don’t think it’s super necessary but it is nice. I also had a Utilibridge I tried first and it was ok. I struggled quite a bit to get it to work and in the end I didn’t really get it exactly how it was intended. But the triad was a breeze to put on and it works really well. It is an upgrade from the webbing my saddle came with but like I said I don’t know that it’s super necessary. I’m going to be doing 1 stick climbing and I think the ability to adjust the bridge length will be nice for that. Otherwise I really don’t have a reason to adjust the length of the bridge. I usually leave it as long as it’ll go and it’s plenty comfortable to sit in for me.

One more thing would be is it worth buying a platform or would a ring of steps be a better investment?

Who makes the recon and cruzr. I haven’t seen those before

That’s really personal preference, but since you asked. A ring of steps works great for a fraction of the cost of a platform. Saw recently there were 5-6 treehopper steps in the classifieds for $60. If you want the best steps out there then squirrel steps are the way to go.

Be patient and you can find ROS setups at decent costs. If I were to get a full size platform to take up the tree then the Ridgerunner would probably be the one I looked at first.

Another option to consider is the solo scout paired with a couple of steps to each side. This is what I’m trying next. I think it will give enough options for foot placement to be comfortable for long sits and will allow travel around the tree.
