After watching the ultimate tree saddle review on YouTube the H2 saddle had one of the top 2 ratings. Has anybody else used this saddle? If so can you post what you consider to be the pros and cons excluding price

I have the H2 and have not tried any other saddles so far. I honestly don’t feel the need to.

The pros I would say are the comfort, simplicity, leg loop hooks (not unique to only this saddle though), and material/stitching quality for the price.

The cons I would say would be the adjustability of the waist belt in that you really can’t adjust the belt length while the buckle is connected (this does not bother me at all though). Also then the linesman loops are a little small and flimsy and can be hard to use when climbing. But Heath has a video out showing you how to put in zip ties to remedy this. The loops really don’t bother me either but it does bother some.

This is really about it. Overall awesome saddle for the money. Awesome value.

Everything he just said.

To add to the waist belt issue. The waist belt is not just a pull to adjust type. With that being said it does not slip once adjusted. After a season of use I’ve never had the need to adjust the thing, and I’ve had some pretty heavy weight loaded on it.

Another pro is Mr. Hart’s responsiveness and customer service. He personally answers questions and helps his customers. One of the companies on that ultimate saddle review list did not answer emails, take phone calls or correct their billing mistake. In other words I had a very disappointing experience, and ended up buying an H2 saddle.

Yes that is true about the belt buckle. Once adjusted it really does not move, which is awesome I think. I have not had to adjust my waist belt ever once adjusted too. I think that’s pretty cool really. We’re all used to a belt that is easy to adjust but often times that comes with the need to readjust too. To me the fact that you don’t have to do that with this belt is a feature in itself.

The H2 is good value and reasonably comfortable for a sitter and light weight. It is a very good saddle
I prefer the Cruzr though.
The phantom. It is the lightest saddle and great for a leaner but the H2 is almost as light and with that cupped seat is nice for a sitter. Customer service when you call is good with H2

This might be a bit of a dumb question but couldn’t you use your bridge loops to run your linesman belt? To me it looks like you could do the same thing

Yeah you definitely can do that. Only thing I’ve noticed with that is if you’re on a fairly small diameter tree, I feel like the bigger loops can add too much slack and you end up tightening your linesmen belt almost all the way if the tree is too small. But still there would be ways around that so, not really a huge issue.

I started with a DIY sit drag...moved up to a mantis and didn’t like it. Went back to sit drag. Bought an H2 and it is by far the nicest most comfortable. I don’t like linesman loops and always thought they were unnecessary because of the bridge loops so I asked Heath if he could make me a saddle with no molle or linesman loops so he did and knocked off $20. Now I have the ultimate light weight, comfortable and affordable saddle. Heath’s customer service is the best!!

I decided on the H2 saddle this year and just received mine in May. I really like the quality and price of it. No saddle or any other equipment is going to be perfect in all aspects for everyone.

It’s a good saddle and good value and available

I got mine in March (my first saddle), and had some of the same concerns after trying it that I've seen others post: 1) small linesman loops 2) buckle doesn't adjust easily 3) triad bridge doesn't cinch as tightly because of the prusiks on both ends 4) bridge can be hard to adjust after load applied .
After a couple dozen trials in my yards and club, these are the results:
I don't mind the loops and appreciate how constrained they are, although I may do the zip tie trick if I have difficulty in the dark.
I've found no need to adjust the buckle, and like one fewer thing to fiddle with when I'm at the tree.
I've found the best way to cinch the saddle tight for walking is looping it through the linesman loops, I can get it tighter than any shortened bridge on my 33" waist.
The adjustability of triad bridge continued to frustrate me. I watched the reviews how some say it adjusts more easily that the utilibridge, but I think it varies by batch of amsteel. I bought some replacement 1/4" amsteel from DanO and tied it into the existing prusiks and it's worked great so far.
So I'm very satisfied with the H2 saddle so far. Although I hope the meet-up in Mass gets rescheduled so I can try some others.
