Hey everyone , first tome on the site after reading lots of good information. I’ve never hunted from a saddle but planning on it next year. Anyone use or have any positive or negatives in the H2 saddle brand? Seems to be comfortable, well made and not ridiculous on price
Thanks

I love my H2. I used it all year last year, probably 50+ hunts. It's decent priced, well built, American small business made, comfortable. Heath is a great guy.

There are downsides to the H2, the belt is difficult to adjust, the lineman loops are floppy(but can easily be fixed with a zip tie).

I love the shape of the H2 on my butt, and dont see myself trading it up any time soon

That was quick! I sure appreciate the information and the real user experience !! I’ve about made my mind up that’s what I’m getting. Then decisions on everything else with it lol , just money right

Ditto to everything Jay_Disarray said. I would add that in my experience at least one of the leg straps seems to like to detach usually on the climb down. No idea why this is and never really heard of anyone else having the issue. So it seems to me that it’s something I’m doing. But even still it’s not a safety hazard what so ever (many saddles have the option to leave leg straps off or a lot of people cut them). I’ve not tried other saddles yet but I see almost no reason to other than just wanting to. It’s an awesome saddle for the money. Highly recommended.

I too have the H2 with the triad bridge and can say it is well made and I do not see me getting anything else for a while if ever. It has a good price on it as well. Like Jay said, The belt buckle will not let you just pull it tight to synch it down you have to fiddle with it to loosen or tighten it. I put zip ties in the lineman's belt to stiffen them up. On the leg loops if you clip it in the loop top to bottom and not bottom to top they should not come out.

Absolutely love my H2!! I have yet to find anything I dislike about it, but this was also my first year saddle hunting. To me it is very comfortable and I have no problem with the buckle. If I could do it all over again I would buy it again.

At first I loved mine and the customer service was awesome. However after a couple longer sits my butt would sweat because of the Codura fabric and I would get eventually sore from hip pinch. I then bought a Recon saddle and that solved those problems. Nothing beats a two panel saddle because no matter what your back side will eventually get sore and having the ability to adjust will keep you on stand longer. That is why so many companies are now making two panel saddles. Either way good luck and hope you find what works best with you.

I was on the fence about what to buy like you. Jay actually let me try his. I love mine so far. If I bought again I may downsize one size as the belt on mine has a lot of extra.

tbh the lineman loops are a moot point to me, as i 1 stick and rappel and rarely use them anyways. the belt buckle you could simply replace the one buckle (i think the female end) and it would be adjustable easily.

While I don't think the h2 is perfect I liked it a lot my first season. I've been keeping a good write up and review thread about my first year experiences- if it wasn't half past one in the morning I'd post more here now, but I'll come back and edit or you can look for my thread here.

I bought the H2 with the triad bridge last year as my first saddle. I really don't have anything that hasn't been said. The belt adjustment is a little fiddley and your butt sweats when it's hot but it's well built, they have great customer service and the price is right. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
