H2 Saddles "Slingshot" review

Thanks for the review. Considering the kite is only 25 more what are your thoughts?
I can't speak for any of the H2's but I have a kite and I like it. I'm yet to hunt out of it but I've practiced with it a lot in the yard and so far I like it.

Just placed an order for one with the leg straps. At the worst, if I don't like it I can sell it and get most of my money back. But the whole idea of a saddle is appealing. Plus I already have climbing sticks, a Muddy lineman's rope, and an HSS tree strap. All I'm missing is a dedicated platform. That can wait.

How are the lineman’s loops on this saddle? From the pics it looks like they are a single layer of 1” tubular webbing which would be likely to flop down, close up and be hard to hook into one-handed. Your thoughts/pics?

I have one side of it tied on with the trailing end of the rope stored in a dump pouch. Typically I’m either on the ground when I attach my LB or hooked to my tether. Either way, I try not to have anything in my hands. I’ll try it here in a bit and see if it’s bothersome and let you know. It’s one piece of tubular nylon folded over and sewn so it’s relatively stiff and sewn in such a way that it stays somewhat open.

I did a trial run a few days ago and honestly it wasn’t hard at all to clip in one handed.

Do you find the saddle rides up (you slipping down)? Or do the leg loops help prevent that?

I was in it for about two hours shooting from different positions and never noticed any ride up. Nor did I feel like the leg straps snugged up. The seat portion kinda cups my butt in such a way that I don’t notice any movement when my weight is on the saddle.

How's the sizing? I ordered a medium. With a 33 waist I'm towards the high end of a small. But I read that they run large. I emailed them earlier. Waiting to hear back.

How will it handle layers do you think?

The belt and leg straps are pretty highly adjustable. I think it’ll compress fill material in any garment, but I certainly think there’ll be room for me to layer. I’ll let ya know in a few months, cause it’s too dang hot in Missouri to try it now! Lol.

Spent most of the morning in my slingshot. I’ve added a couple dump pouches on the webbing that have been nice. I hunted from 0530 to 1000. Took a shower and a nap and I got back out at 3. I’ll sit til dark. It’s been very comfy and I’ve decided I trust it enough to take my lineman’s belt off the tree. I’ll shorten up the bridge a tad but it’s been amazing otherwise.

I’ve seen 5 does and a yearling buck. All in all I’m very impressed with the quality and comfort.

Order one with the leg straps. I swore I spent enough this year that I was just going to use the sit drag but I caved. Pretty excited with the good reviews it’s getting. I even messaged him to be sure if I needed a small or extra small and he was great with communication.

Same with me. He seems like a nice guy! You won’t regret spending the money.

Ordered one with the leg straps on the 7th. I think he was two weeks out now. Haven't received any shipping info yet. Placed an order for a mini platform for my sticks today. Should be set once everything comes in.

Got mine H2 Saturday and I’m very pleased with it so far. I can say that the quality and attention to do detail of the saddle is great. Been sitting with it everyday and playing around with it. Just got it nail down my climbing method.

I’ve been waiting to buy my first saddle and had been hoping to get the new Trophyline, but I’m growing impatient with the lack of updates and sick of all the posts that say SOON. Really thinking hard about ordering the H2 and piecing everything else together and these reviews seem great.

I’ve been in it two full days now and I have no plans of looking back. Pick up some predator rope from eastern woods outdoors and prussik cords on amazon. Carabiners. Platform/ROS and a climbing method and you’re ready to rock!
