Hamskea rests?

All good stuff, I appreciate it fellas. I think I’m going to switch to the epsilon this spring now. Reliability and durability are big on my lists of wants in a product and the fact I can easily adjust on the field if I have an issue along with the comments thus far have sold on switching. I would prefer a better capture or hold system in a rest but come to think of it, when I stalk with my recurve I don’t have anything holding my arrow and it’s not an issue so.

Limbsaver and Hamskea make an arrow holder that sticks to the riser to help keep it centered. I would still cover points of contact with fleece. I would use the little holder, but I cut my arrows short enough to put the broadhead inside the riser a bit and shoot a big cut broadhead, so the blades were hitting the little stick on holder unless I rotated my blades just right. Wasn't worth it.

Yeah I was thinking about this, my broadheads will be close. I’m going to check that out later tpday

The broadhead that wouldn't work was a QAD Exoduse 125 grain swept blade, and I even run the arrow a bit high off the shelf (bottom of arrow splits middle of berger hole).

Yeah I shoot kudupoints so that maybe an issue for me too. Im pretty sure they just clear the riser thpugh.

Hamskea is built like a tank and solid. Lots of ability to tune rest timing and spring tension in the arm. They flat out work and repeat.

I have several vapor trails while they are good they are not a hamskea. One the mount brackets warped. It’s came loose a few times. But I favor them for being lighter. Though the new primer rest is very light.

Hamskea on the other hand is very very well machined and much better tolerance of their assemblies. I continue to go back and forth. Neither have let me down. My qad on the other hand crapped a few times and a few friends did. But in all fairness the qad made it over 9 years.

What do you all think about the Hamskea Primer rest they came out with in 2021?

They are simple and good. I put one on the girls latest bow. I did use the older style activation cord. Been just as good as my others. I wouldn’t mind trying it over my vapor trails for a season.

In my case it was a Mathews branded QAD and QAD wouldn’t support it at all. I had to to go through a Mathews dealer and ship it back and they sent a new one which I promptly sold. The rest I sent in was camo and the one I got back was black as well. All in all, very glad I’m done with them and couldn’t be happier with my Hamskea.

I had the same problem and result from the integrated rest. Worked great most of the time but then once every 12 shots or so wouldn't drop till my arrow forced it. Left a nice dig in my aluminum riser. My mathews dealer got me a new one that I promptly sold and moved on the a WB and never looked back. Thats one rest that won't fail in the woods.

Does anybody know why all bow manufacturers do integrated rest option with only with QAD?
If I buy top of the line bow, I wan't top of the line arrow rest. I would love to have light integrated rest, but I don't want to downgrade...

I don't think this is exactly accurate. Right now I can only remember Hoyt and Mathews having integrated rest option. Also Hamskeas also have integrated for Mathews.

Also PSE, Bowtech and Elite! Those 5 brands are pretty much my options here...

Been looking at Hamskea, but gotta say QAD HDX has been perfect so far with more than a couple thousand shots and a few bows. The only reason I look is due to everyone else's experiences and also because I love to tinker and try new things to see what works. Honestly I don't think QAD, Ripcord, Trophy Taker or Hamskea make anything but the best. It comes down to budget and weight,. Where do you want to be? Me, if it works flawlessly - I keep it. But a single failure that's out of my control, It's gone.

My local shop told me it is a licensing constraint with the dovetail. I have a Hamskea Epsilon coming on my new Mathews V3X
