Okay, this isn't exactly a vendor hosted event, but I thought it might be good if we post a list of vendors that will be attending. It might be helpful to some "gear curious" guys to know who will be there. And it also might be a chance for some guys to meet for dinner or a beer. @DanO, will you be there again this year?
I know Treehopper will have a booth and Mark says he will have lots of stuff there.
Any other vendors on here that plan to attend Harrisburg?

I will not be attending this year, sorry. Maybe next year.

I'll be walking around on the 1st Saturday of the show. Tethrd wont have a booth this year but I'm hoping we can make it happen for next year.

I'm very disappointed to see that none of the saddle manufacturers could be bothered to come to this event, last year over 179,000 people attended the show. If you have never been it is hard to convey the scale of it.

I've gone for 3 years running. It's definitely a busy show. I was hoping Tethrd was going to make it there but with the launch of the Phantom in late February there was not enough stock to take the the GAOS show. That is not a show to have no inventory at. I'm hoping there will be an official Tethrd booth there next year.

Treehopper will be there.
They have saddles (slings, actually) and more stuff we use. Steps, bolts, drills, stands.

With a little management and timing they could have announced at ATA with plenty of stock sitting in storage, attended the outdoor show and probably sold every one plus more pre-orders for them them in a week.

I don't understand manufacturers wanting to build hype for products they can't sell yet... Build the hype at ATA and be selling them face to face a couple of weeks later, much better customer relations.

The ATA is geared towards generating commitment for purchase from large & small retailers to secure the product that’s not quite available yet. Then the ramp up really goes into overdrive. I don’t want to speculate why companies aren’t attending the Harrisburg show.
I think I might head up for the first time, not too far & looks pretty cool!

Generating commitment to buy products makes perfect sense for bow, arrow, nock, fletching, etc manufacturers... To my knowledge Tetherd (the only saddle manufacturer I am sure was at ATA) does not sell anything through retail outlets and only deals in direct sales. So why spend the time, money, and effort attending a trade show that is not your intended market? Sure they got lots of YouTube coverage from the usual sources, but they could have gotten the same thing by sending a sample to those channels.

You nailed it......w today’s direct marketing approach it’s a worthwhile advertising outlet. I know some mfrs have been to consumer shows in the past. I’m sure it will happen eventually.

I am still looking forward to going to the show this year, it is always a good time. For anyone that is withing driving range of Harrisburg that has not been, I would suggest checking it out.

One reason some manufacturers might not be attending the Harrisburg show is due to the time commitment. Most shows are Thur-Sat or Fri-Sun. The Harrisburg show is 9 days long! That's brutal from an exhibitors perspective and expensive.

That is a good point, and definitely true. They would have to do a cost benefit analysis and decide if it is worth their time and expense to attend. Until some of the manufacturers figure out how to get ahead of the shipping delay times attending the show could have done more harm than good, nobody wants to hear that sure you can order this today at the show and pay for it today and we will try to have it shipped in July.....

I absolutely think That is there intended market. Every saddle Mfg wants to be on the shelf at BassPro! To think they want to run this website and ship everything themselves is small thinking. Lol
How do you get a bigger share of the market? Put saddles in the hunting section of a BassPro/ Academy outdoors / ???

See you in a tree, Ricky

Just look at the buzz it created here! Facebook and the internet it done everything it was intended to do so far.

They would have to seriously up their production capability before Bass Pro or any other major retailer would be willing to talk to them about stocking their product. As long as it is an 8-10 week wait to order a single item it is a non-starter for retail outlets. Who knows how long their lead time would be for 800 units (number needed to put only 4 items on the shelf at every Bass Pro shop in the country with nothing in reserve for re-ordering or filling their own direct orders).

I hear you but i believe you would see some major changes if a major outlet bought in to the saddle game

There would definitely be some major changes, I am not sure if they would be for the better or not though. Once major retailers get involved things get manufactured to a price point, not a quality point with a price to match. I don't know about Bass Pro but Walmart is a good example, when you start selling products through them Walmart Corp tells you how much they will pay for a product, it has nothing to do with what you are asking. From there you either change how your product is manufactured to meet that price point or you don't sell through Walmart. This is why if you look carefully you can find a lot of products in Walmarts that have product numbers that are only found in Walmart, what looks like the same item someplace else is a different product ID and in reality is a different product.
