Has buying a thread injector for saddle building led to other outdoor projects?

I made a full set of washable meat bags (same material as my kuiu and black ovis elk bags), stuff sack pillow for my elk trips (overstuffed compared to my current camp pillow) and stuff sacks for gear organization in my pack. Next projects are a bivy and apex quilt.

What else have you guys made?

More like buying a machine for other projects led to saddle making.

hats off to you, thats awesome work. The bag looks a lot more useful than what you can get in the stores
Frame and bag are HEAVILY inspired by kifaru packs. I like being able to custom design to my needs. That frame and bag would be about $800 if i bought it. I might have $50 in it. Oh and an ungodly amount of man hours.

Sewing is the easy part. Design is what takes me forever.

That bag is awesome. I'm going to be making an xpac daypack to work with my kuiu frame and suspension before elk season next year.

Killed it, do you have any advice for the bag? I have a kifaru frame that I need to make a bag for. What did you use for the staves in the frame?

I can only imagine the time that you have invested in this, shoot the last time I had ot sew a button back on it took me forever.... never mind something as elaborate as this .

Do you have access to a kifaru bag? If so, pull as many measurements off it as you can. Older bags have holes in the flap that goes over too of frame so that load lifters pass through it. Their newer bags just have another set of loops sewn onto that flap. That approach is way eaiser.

No need to make a bag as complicated as i did. That horseshoe zipper was a pita and i dont think i would do it again. All that molle takes time. I finally bought my dream machine, a consew 206rb5, and sewing all that molle on the front panel took me 40 mins.

Buy an edge binder to bind your interior seams. I made this one a roll top and i dig it.

Those stays are actually some composite stays that i made out of maple and fiberglass. I build a few recurve bows so laminating some stays was no big deal. I actually prefer carbon arrow stays but the curved stays add a lot of rigidity to that frame design. It has packed 3 sheep and a mule deer so far. Love it.

No access to a kifaru bag, I'm thinking a something like their woodsman/reckoning. I like how your side straps just hook to the molle on the front of the pack.
I just got a consew 206rb2 a few months ago, love how I can use thicker thread and blast through webbing. I do need to get a speed reducer for it though. I've got a binder guide in the mail.

Where do you hunt that you have sheep tags?

Forget the speed reducer and just buy a servo motor. They are like $90 new on ebay. I dont know what kind of animal can control a clutch motor. Speed reducer can be beneficial even with a servo motor though. You can run the motor at i higher rpm then and get more torque at low sewing speed.

I like molle because i am indecisive. I will spend days staring at my design trying to fiqure out where straps should go. Molle keeps me from having to decide.

Oh and 2 of the sheep were barbary. And the 3rd was my buddy's NM bighorn. Lucky joker drew a tag the first time he applied.

It is a very simple, quick set-up blind I use for turkey hunting. The camo fabric finished dimensions are: 7 ft long x 26 in high. There are 3/4 in. channels sewn in for the four foldable fiberglass stakes. The fiberglass stakes are stuck in the ground to form a standing screen behind which I hide waiting for an approaching gobbler. The fiberglass stakes came from a purchased blind that was made from less sturdy fabric that was not long enough or high enough for me. Very simple project.
