Hawk Helium 20

Honestly, there are multiple threads on these sticks and the quality control issues are unacceptable IMO but kind of expected for the price point. i spent way too long fixing them. Still dont have my steps level after grinding with a dremel for way too long. would have been easier with an angle grinder but im worried i would have took too much off. I like my API sticks better. will probably post my hawks in the classified section. HAWK will never get my money for a saddle. probably the reason its still not available. wont pass any tests with the shoddy Vietnamese sweat shop assembly.

and the maraca issue and packaging, as well as the suction cups issue. MAKE SURE YOU HAND TIGHTEN THE SUCTION CUPS. if you crank to hard you will ruin them

I’m going to take my suction cups off and use the Dave T method to stack, those suction cups are so bad.

Bought a single regular Helium back in April to try out one sticking, and the stick itself was twisted from the middle of the stick to the bottom. No way in hell I’d give Hawk anymore of my money after reading the issues people are having with the 20” sticks.

Yeah I just want to get through this season and then I’ll invest in a better set.

Are the new smaller Hawk Heliums 20" between steps or 20" total length? Just curious...

easier to carry, less snagging, lighter. if you use an aider (which i would do even with the 30's) they get just as high and you can leave one at home or sell it to one a them stupid "one-stikkers" on here. or with 4 space them out farther and youll still get higher.

most guys will end up cutting down the 30" sticks. so hawk tried to meet demand but IMO failed miserably. never heard of any of these issues with the 30's so you may have made the right choice. if you think theyre bulky chop em down. then you can use the extra steps for other projects to waste more of your time on! until killin season is here its tinker time...

Here is the video describing these, check his channel, he's got three more videos on the Helium sticks, but this is the most recent:
i like that set up. one thing i like about the suction cups is you can take them off one at a time and the others are still together, Genesis 3d clips seem like an easy solution also but cost a little more $$

U guys sure are being hard on those Chinese slave kids.....why dont u try assembling 200 of those sticks in a day and then we'll talk about rattley slag......

What exactly is this rattle slag? Chips from drilling? Slag on aluminum is made from plasma cutting. I never seen the helium in person so I'm just trying to figure what u guys are talking about

Some pictures in that post.

If I had to guess that is the sanding media from when they put the pieces in the big tumber/agitator during the sanding process

Has anyone else had issues with the suction cups being insanely hard to break free? I have the full length sticks with the suction cups and they come apart just fine, but with these 20” I’m having to pry them apart.

I don't have much luck pulling up, but if I rock to the right or left that works much better.

Here is a post where someone sanded them down and had luck with that:

I've had mine for about 3 weeks or so and they came in fine condition. No loose or missing parts and they went together and work slick. The first thing I did was get rid of the straps that came with them and installed amsteel daisy chains I made myself.

Slag and filings from when they punched or drilled the holes, mine were full of the crap, reminded me of when I was kid and had bb guns full of bbs, I completely removed every bolt and nut from the center tube section of the sticks and drilled out the end tubes and dumped all the stuff out, or you could just use a punch probably or long old screw driver with a rubber mallet, I can’t remember exactly but I made a thread here about it at the time, there quiet now, anybody with this problem shine a flashlight down the hollow end tubes and you will see the problem, knock or drill that little flap of aluminum blocking the stuff from dumping out and remember to remove every bolt from that center hollow tube before attempting it otherwise there will be crap trapped between the bolts in the there.
