Hawk Rival Micro $135 on Midway USA

Most good tree stands have their prices slashed to sell them when the season is winding down…

Great price but...I fell for a supposedly low weight low price Hawk stand 2 years ago.

Fool me once...

I know company bashing irks some, but I think they've earned this tiny bit of come uppance. If they've turned things around and hit this advertised weight I'll reconsider my stance.

I have one on the way, I'll report back. I'm a bigger guy and the other offerings near that price I'd be exceeding their weight limit, plus they don't level. It'll have its place on pre-set rut sits in conjunction with the saddle and I wasn't wanting to pay a house payment for a stand around 10lbs.

I'm not trying to defend Hawk but does this testing even exist for some of the smaller companies?
Also, I'm not planning on grinding to create airborne particles or chewing on the stand (squirrels watch out). It'll be used outside in fresh air with plenty of ventilation.

Just don't use it in California and you will be okay. LOL. Everything seems to cause cancer anymore. I thought about actually getting one and was just kidding about the warning label.

I was hoping so but there's those people out there!!

Hawk burned me on their first batch of sticks with the suction cups. Broken out of the box and took multiple calls to get enough replacement parts. Not worth the headache IMO. Hopefully it works out for you.

If it's junk, I'll just use it as a platform after a few tweaks.

So I got this today with some assembly required. The seat isn't bad besides the fact you have to sit away from the tree a bit to avoid that rear bar. The platform size isn't bad and it cams tight to the tree using the ol knee on seat toe down method. The seat has a knurled bolt you can remove to lay it flat and fold the seat down (it'll fold up without removing the knurled bolt). The seat folding down will be handy while saddle hunting because I'll be able to use the seat as a knee pad.
The advertised weight is accurate on my bathroom scale without their heavy ratchet straps and just one lone wolf cam buckle.
I'd say for the cost it isn't bad and it'll work for those dark to dark sits for a little extra comfort while not breaking the bank.

Pictures as well? Thanks for the unboxing debrief.
