I was thinking about using a heated coat or vest to keep my core warm as I often hunt sub freezing temperatures in the later season. Does anyone else use these or have input on what works/doesnt.

I use a Volt brand from Amazon. I like Scentloks new option as well. It works with any USB power source. Most other heated vests require proprietary batteries.

X2 on the heated vest from Volt. I got one for Christmas last year from my wife. There were already a couple of mornings here in NC when I used it. It does eliminate bulk as it is very thin. Not only does it have the heating elements, but it blocks wind as well which makes a big difference on its own. Make sure to consider a second battery if you are in for all day hunts.

I’ve been using a Milwaukee sweatshirt. It works pretty well. I am upgrading to the axis vest in a size small. I usually wear med/large. The key to this stuff is it has to be tight and close to skin. I put it right over my base layer and then put my mid and outer layers over it.
I’m happy with the Milwaukee stuff but I already own a ton of it so my choice was easy.

I have a heated puffy vest made by Ororo (LINK HERE) that my folks gave me for Christmas last year, and I LOVE it. It’s a very good puffy vest even without the heating element, and I wear it pretty regularly even when not hunting. If you’re cold-natured like me, having an external heat source is critical, and a heated vest is a great way to get it.

I have the Pnuma vest, it gets hot in a hurry but the two things I don't like about it is that its cut more like a tank top from the 80's instead of a t-shirt without sleeves. The other thing I hate about it is the battery placement, its right at the waist line so you either hike the vest up to button your pants or you push your pants down below the waist. The battery should be higher or on the kidney area.

I got one from Wish.com for like $20. Haven't used it much but I figured at the minimum I have a cheap non heated vest ha.

I have the Pnuma vest - only used it once so far but it was pretty amazing. Instant heat. Search for Pnuma on here and you’ll find more reviews and info.

The thing about the Pnuma vest the heat is right against your skin. That makes it very efficient because the heat is where you want it and it is trapped under all the other layers

Love mine. Had it for two seasons
