Looking some info on victory arrows what’s some good components to use to get some good foc and not risk durability. Anyone using the ethics components for them? What’s your setup with them weight wise and how tough they are

6 critters with rip tko and ethics ss half outs. Only one arrow broke, and it was sheared off by shoulder bone when deer turned to run. All the rest went straight through, got sharpened up, back in quiver.

they’re plenty tough, but expensive, and not really necessary for whitetail inside of 30 yards. But no downside besides price

Shooting victory vforce 300 spines with ethics 200gr inserts this year. They tuned super easy. I have 28" arrows and running 610gr total weight. Hope to test lethality in a few months.

I have some victory made guide gear arrows from sportsmansguide. They are 350 spine with 200gr insert from ethics and 125 broadheads.....580gr if I remember correctly.....they tune good but that is about the max tip weight before they get squirrelly....29 arrow, 28 draw, 55 draw weight. 350 spine is the stiffest they offer in that guide gear which is made by victory. I harvested a doe last season and had a pass through with scapula contact and a heavy quarter away....entered well behind the last rib, contacted the shoulder, and redirected out the neck.....like 24inches of the arrow fully inside the body, bone strike, and still able to pass all the way through.

VAP 300 Gamers; 95g SS insert; heat vane; 125gr Grizzlystick Samurai single bevels. Total arrow weight ~515gr, almost 16% FOC and shooting about 260fps with a 29.5" arrow out of a 65# compound. Last year I shot a VAP 350 with the 35gr AL insert with an arrow weight of 415gr @ 300fps and just wanted to beef it up this year. The 350 was a decent arrow and had a full pass through frontal quartering on an 18yd ground shot w/ G5 Deadmeat. The 300's almost hit identical at 20yrd vs a bare shaft field tip.

I've been very impressed with their toughness!

My draw weight is 70 lbs draw length 28.5 arrow length I like to run is around 29 inches. I’d like to run atleast 600 grain arrow will settle for 580 if I can’t get 600 plus to work. How would you guys recommend going about getting to that 600 grain mark as far as spine and where to add my weight as far as to the broadhead or internal/external like washers or like the fac weight system by gold tip. At what point do you draw the line and say I use 150 grain broadhead and add X amount of weight to the insert/ outsert system what ever is being used?

1/ go to micro diameter shafts (id 4.2mm) : wall thickness is more than 1mm, it guaranties the strength on impact, in 300 spine weight is about 11 gpi.
2/ inserts or outsert : avoid aluminium, various stainless steel models are available, always use an external footing (built in with insert or piece of 1820 aluminium shaft)
3/ it is always better for penetration to add weight to the point than to the shaft (choose lighter shafts like vaps and add weight to point or insert)
4/ if you use an outsert, you can add weight & strength with a piece of 4mm nail glued inside the shaft, which also tune FOC

My setup for trad (timberghost G3ss 55#@29'') : 30'' blackeagle instinct sp 350 / black eagle outsert + 1.5'' of 4mm carbon rod inside the shaft / SB Centaur on 75gr steel adapter / 4x3'' feather : 680 grains (12.3 gpp) foc 24%

For compound (Bowtech Realm 60#@29) I also use 29'' sp350 micro shafts with 100 grains SS inserts & 1'' of 1820 external , 150 grain BH (SB kudu), total 610grains

I 'm shooting VAP 250s with all stainless Ethics half outs and footers total weight is 690gr. Foc 21.8%. You can cut down the inserts to manipulate the weights if you want to stick with all stainless. They also have different combinations of stainless and aluminum to help you find the exact weights you want. I've found the VAPs and Ethics components are a great combination and easy to work with.

With the ethics components I see that you can’t just screw in weights or remove weights off the insert without having them completely out and to cut. How are you suppose to tune your arrows without being able to add and reduce weight from the inserts? Or am I missing something with the ethics components?

If you are wanting to go down the tuning route, you get a field point test kit that come in a variety of ranges (100gr-300gr for example) that you can test different weights up front and then build from there based off of what weight works.
I ended up with Black Eagle X-Impact 250s with 180gr SS Ethics insert/outserts and use 125gr Iron Will Solids (wanted to stay within commercially available broadhead weights should i ever need to stop at the local shop to pick up more broadheads as i inevitably forget something on a hunt). Total weight is around 620gr currently and ~22% FOC, 30" draw and ~68lbs draw. Hammers a block 6x6 and buries field points almost to the fletching. Liking going down the heavy arrow route thus far.

Use hotmelt ...

I ordered a GrizzlyStik test pack. They’re the TDT arrows made by Victory. Upgraded to the ethics inserts/outsert sleeves, 150-200 grain heads, all the while getting as close to 650 grain TAW. Still finalizing which point weight flies the most consistent out of my setup. They seem tough as can be, and should be great for any animal I’ll ever pursue.

I also went the Grizzlystik and Ethics route.
Yes, the Ethics are strictly a "one way adjustment" meaning you can make them lighter but you can put the weight back on after you cut them. They do make washers to bump up the weight but they only weigh a few grains.
Get field points in a variety of weights to simulate different insert weights. Once you figure out the best amount of weight up front, then you can decide if you need to cut the post on the inserts.

AND USE COOL MELT. The blue stuff.
And you only need a little dab.
It allows removal of the insert with just hot water.
I was gonna use the cool melt just during the tuning process, then switch to hot melt after the arrow configuration was determined but I feel confident that the cool melt is quite adequate to hunt with. If I ever have a need to remove the inserts, the cool melt will be easier.
There's no way that I would use epoxy.

I went with Day6 350 spline with 10.2.gr / in. shooting Hoyt carbon defiant 65lbs. 28.5 draw
50gr, stainless steel out certs , 4 fletching with 7in wrap under fletchings, 125 gr, field points.
Arrows come in at 538 gr. should bump up to 550 with lighted nock. Bryan the owner is very
knowledgeable and explianed how the 350 spline with a greater density per inch than other
arrow manufactures was the setup that I needed.

Victory vforce, using. 246 brass inserts (100 grain) for gold tip arrows. 125 single beveled broadhead.

I'd advise you to get the ranch fairy test kit that provides any combination of weight up front that you would need. This would save you a lot of grief

Bringing up an old thread here, I need some help with salvaging an arrow build.
I have a dozen 300 spine rip tkos that are complete. I'd like to up the foc and overall arrow weight by about 100 grains. I plan on using the ranch fairy field tips to help decide how heavy.
The issue I am having is since the arrows I have are complete if I remove the stock 50grain inserts I will lose about an inch and a half in arrow length. Are there heavy inserts that come close to length as the stock victory?

I'm not familiar with rip tkos but how do you plan on removing the inserts, cutting the arrow? If they're a glued in insert I would heat up a field point to remove the insert and not alter arrow length.
