Has anyone tried to ever tried to modify the standoff to get them to bite the tree a bit better. I really like the sticks just wish they'd dig in just a bit more
 
When setting your helium's on oak trees make certain that both sides of each standoff are engaged on the tree. Due to the deep and irregular bark it's very possible to have one of the four points not touching the tree and it will still grab the tree and not move when you pull down on it or stand on it. The problem with that scenario is if you put side pressure on the stick it could slip out on you. Key is to make sure all four points are firmly communicating when setting the stick.
