Hello folks. My name is Trevor from central Missouri. Through many lazy hours of YouTube (The Hunting Public) are my favs! My hunting desires have changed. I only hunted the family farm twice this season. Once w crossbow and once w rifle. My time has been mostly spent on 1500 acres of public. I did miss a buck w the bow and could not find my muzzleloader buck, so as far as bringing home the meat I failed. These were all ground hunting adventures. Ive hunted from my same warren and sweat climber since 2000, which is when I killed my first deer. Bow kill. Hooked ever since. Moving on to focusing on public ground for bucks, its time to invest in a saddle. I appreciate the knowledge and friendliness from your forum. Good luck to all that deserve it!

Welcome to the forum. Saddles work as well on private as they do public. To me where they really shine is when I leave the truck with no idea where I’ll hunt. I can tote a climber in a mile. I’ve done it and many people still do. What I couldn’t do with a climber is walk 2-3 miles scouting and then setup on hot sign.

I prefer to still hunt/scout my way in. Hard to do w the climber on.

I am new as well and was skeptical at first but after just two sits I sold my climbers and ain’t looking back! Welcome from Florida!

Welcome from Mississippi. Make sure you can use saddles where you hunt before you are 500$ deep in a setup. There are some states that it is illegal to use them for some reason.
