Hero clip for gear strap

Is there anything “better” than a HeroClip on a daisy chain of sorts? Not in my opinion. I can hook that to anything including a small branch, so it gets my vote for $15ish.

I took the hook off of a large cable cuff from the hardware store and threaded my gear hanger through the bolt hole. Works great. My gear hanger is a 6' length of Paracord on a camjam. I've got 3 paracord Prussic loops on it with plastic carabiners I can use to hang my pack, quiver, or whatever needs hanging at the moment.

My DIY wood and CF bow hook has made me very happy. Cut-off from when I was building a prototype platform. After 2 seasons, I'm in the process of making a new one that has CF on both sides. Used with a daisy chain gear loop, it works great. Silent (though that's not a huge concern of mine), weighs about a half ounce and is 4 inches deep so easy to hang and retrieve my bow or crossbow from with little effort.

Here it is in first trial run. My daisy chain now has a g-hook cinch mechanism and stays tight against the tree.

That's awfully an shallow section to hang 7.lbs of $500 of your most important gear for harvesting.

I'll admit, I was nervous the first couple of times I used it. The image in the post it's also sagging a lot more so it looks worse than it is in real life. The vertical portion of the hangar is usually flush against the trunk of the tree so the horizontal has a bit more "positive" angle to it. I've been in trees with wind gusts of 40 miles per hour and it doesn't move.

If you are not required to use the hero hook, I have used this system exclusively for awhile
with great results. The hooks are rubber coated steel, that helps when you remove your bow (no noise)

Look up petzl caritool tool holder. I transformed one of those into this with a Dremel and a cutting wheel. It is a composite and doesn't have any metal clanking sounds.

I tried this the past season, used it on my Amsteel daisy chain gear strap. The Caritool is far superior to anything else I've tried through the years, including the Figure 9 and the Hero Clip. It holds my bow securely, is very lightweight and quiet.

Thanks @Loopwing !

if you aint scared to be called a redneck ...

i use my linesman rope as my bow and pack hanger. get a stout clothes hanger and some cutters and make a bunch

Is the hero clip the best option ever? I really don’t know. But It works well enough for my needs.

That’s what I’ve been using for about the same length of time and it works great. I wrapped mine in some of the camo wrap and bent the arm out just a tad bit. Love it and like you, haven’t seen a reason for anything else.
