Hickory Creek Koolaid

I guess that is why mine has a hole drilled and tapped through the round part with a bolt inserted so it cannot turn.

I miss being able to get a 25% discount on the decimators. AWESOME arrows, and the price is outstanding when they're on sale. I sold probably literal thousands of them each year.
I haven't cut mine since I'm still using the ones I got when I bought it used. Too much stuff too little time.

The mistake was going from a square fit to round stock. I’m sure it’s a doable retrofit I just don’t know if I’ll have time to to tinker. Maybe @Vtbow can take some closeups of the old connection and one of you rednecks can whip something up. Then @DanO can sell them!
will do, stay tuned...

Soft aluminum. 5/16-24 bolt 1/2 inch long. If I was doing it new, I would go 1/4-28. It would be plenty strong enough. The fine thread is better because it won't fall out as easily.

Is there a rope cocker for this? If so, does anyone use it?

I bought an Excalibur xbow a few years ago for my wife to use for certain hunting situations....then found out, even with their rope cocker, she couldn't cock it on her own because of how long the stroke is.

I have my limb bolts turned out 2 turns. I read somewhere that you can go out 5 turns. 2 turns out it is easy for me to cock in the tree. It is somewhere around 125 lbs draw weight since that is where it is required to be in my state. I imagine she could cock it 5 turns out. Better double check on that. I bought mine used and did not get a manual. Sent an email to Jerry and never got a reply. The manual should be available online, IMHO.

I can cock the mini cranked out to 150, sitting in the jx3 or the kestrel, by hand, no aid. But I do recommend thinking through this, and practicing at ground level until you figure it out. Your mileage may vary.

I can cock mine at 150 as well. But I wanted it to be easy for an old man like me.

Man...after picking up my HC to take those is I just want to kill something!!!!!! What a fine piece of hunting engineering!

Mine is maxed at 125lbs which is the heaviest they made the original in. I've been able to cock on steps no problem so fAR, but haven't done it in cold weather with bulky clothes....a platfom might help here..

Hickory creek sells a cocking aid. I don’t need it on the ground but on a ring of steps I want it. I have mine maxed out at 150 lbs.

I also got a larger foot stirrup for winter boots which they sell

So here's an easy way to fix the wobble. You can use heat shrink tubing or electrical tape. The heat shrink with the glue will probably stay on better. Wrap the round male end that fits in the riser until fit is snug. The male threads on the rail that goes into the riser are 5/16"-18. I picked up the hand knob at Menards and had to trim it a little. One extra knob to loosen and remove to take it down but at least no wobble. 20200710_111438.jpg20200710_111306.jpg20200710_111411.jpg

Mine doesn't wobble at all even without my extra bolt or the main knob tightened. If I put heat shrink on mine it would never fit. It is a sliding fit, not loose. I looked back and think you don't have a mini but another bow you are trying to fit. I have used an aluminum beer can material wrapped around enough times to fill such spaces. It does not compress as heat shrink will. An advantage also is you have to drink a beer to get the material to use. :D

Mine is definitely loose. I wonder if I could get ahold of him and get another better machined male piece. Looks like just 2 machine screws hold it in.

Is it loose after you cock it? I noticed mine was loose and it about drove me crazy trying to tighten that knob. Then I realized after it was cocked it didnt move.
