Hickory Creek Koolaid

I received mine yesterday, set up and shot it today. I only have 20 yards in my yard, but it was pretty accurate. Scope clarity is sub par. That trigger rattle is going to drive me nuts though. I snapped off the red lever used to release the quiver in about 5 minutes of using it.
It came from the factory with a lock nut and set screw installed, so you would have to take them off to disassemble into 2 parts. The take down knob was in the package separate with directions. This was great, as I didn't have to purchase a lock nut, as I want to keep it together.
My daughter likes it.

Make sure she tucks that thumb down and wraps it on the front grip. Once and awhile you'll get a stinging sensation in your thumb and wonder why your shot was off. Your fletching will hit your thumb once and awhile gripping it like that.

Check to see if your rest is inline (up and down) with your nock, and check that your rest is inline (left and right) with your string. Field points are forgiving, broadheads aren't. I had to adjust my rest probably .030" to get my broadheads to fly straight consistently, but now it's working great.

Good luck.

When checking if the rest is inline left/right with string, is that when the string is resting, or cocked? I used a set of calipers to measure string distance off rail in both positions and they are different.

Just throwing a little bit more love the mini direction. I let 2 guys I hunt with shoot it this past weekend. They are both ordering one this off-season. The both love the fact you can be close to the tree and almost hide behind the tree and not have to worry about the limbs hitting the tree.
I have to say I sighted the scope in 1.5 years ago and it still hits right where I aim. "Set it and forget it"

I just ordered one. Is anybody using arrows different than the ones they ship with it? What weight broadheads? I am thinking of a 500 gr arrow, give or take. Thanks

I am using the standard arrows with a 175 gr. broadhead. About 450gr???

I’ll list this in the classified, but thought I post it here first. Testing interest in trading or selling a full size Hickory Creek. I bought it from VTbow and it’s great I just don’t really use it. Shoot great. Would try for a higher end crossbow or sell outright.

PM meet if you want to know more.

See post 921. I have also purchased and used 22.5 inch, 250 spine arrows off amazon (accmos predator, china arrows). Same setup, 525 gr, shoot great.

I just called and ordered it. They didn't say they were out. I talked to Jerry Monday and he said it would ship Wed.(today). 4 to5 days via ups

Still drinking it, I guess...

Red dot reflex sight worked like a charm. Swhacker 2" cut right behind the shoulder at 23 yards. Turned both lungs into jelly, sliced the bottom of the heart, and broke his leg on the opposite side. Did not get a pass through, but I'm assuming that's because it hit the opposite leg bone. 50 yards and crashed...
