Hickory Creek Koolaid

Nah, just joking around. Thanks for taking it in that vein. Seriously, not sure about the shooting left handed business. But as a right hander, I initially questioned the closeness deal. After awhile I realized there was nothing to worry about. YMMV. It's a fun tool and I get a lot of grief from buddies. It's just cool.

Haha ok ok I get it, probably shouldnt of mention my face. But hand still legit concern!
Yeah sorry can't help on the left/right issues but seriously after seeing a few traditional raven crossbows blow up, I don't want those anywhere near my face either!

I'm left handed and son is right handed. How hard is it to convert it from one dex to the other? Not saying that I'm buying one soon, but the design of being left or right dominant only is one of the major reason why I would never buy one compared to a regular crossbow.

Yes, I will admit it, I'm using my son as a proxy to convince my wife to be open to the idea of buying one someday.

If you want to switch back and forth from a righty to a lefty, I would recommend a conventional crossbow with ambidextrous controls.

Can you shoot a right-handed mini, left-handed? Yes. Would you want to do it all the time? Probably not.

I think I have a new winter mini project… reducing bow vibration. I know this is unecessary and a crossbow will never be quiet but I’m still curious to see if some adhesive sorbothane sheet stuck on the right spots (like the scope assembly and the length of the stock), and split limb dampeners, can change the shot from thump/twang to just thump. Might help with fasteners staying tight longer too, we will see.

Shoot an arrow with 225gr up front.

Add limb saver split limb silencers.

These two things make a material difference.

I think of my mini as exactly the same as a 70/30 compound bow from an energy standpoint. Not as a crossbow. With that in mind, I play exact same game I play with my compound. Shoot a 500ish grain arrow 280-310fps, and my red dot scope is +-2” from 0-35 yards. Playing this game, allows the arrow build suggested.

Use a cut on contact head, razor sharp, small diameter, and you’ll go through any deer you shoot.

Or shoot ‘em mid body with a rage.

Way quieter. Way less vibration. Way happier kyle

Will do and I’m sure you’ve replied with this answer 5 times already but did you increase the arrow spine at all?

When I tap the scope I get some vibration so I’m committed to trying the few grams the sorbothane will add, will make changes one step at time to see which are perceivable.

But will incorporate a heavier arrow build too… suspect an added benefit of that being a little easier on the machine long term as well.

300 spine will work fine. 250 spine will work fine. Others may work too, these I know do.

I received mine today. Had a set screw holding it together with the knob loose saying its an option . And the nut and washer are already installed on the end threaded rod. It came as a solid one piece instead of as a takedown. Ill be shooting it when the sun comes up tomorrow. Merry Christmas to me

good call on the limb savers. did you have to find a special size? I measured and the mini limbs are 3/8 inch spaced and most regular bows are closer to 1 inch I think. will they just squish in?

There's a lefty for sale in the classifieds for $650 plus shipping. I would love to buy it but I'm scared of my wife.
When I want something for X$. I tell my wife she can spend the same amount. It costs me twice as much, but cheaper then a divorce.

Are folks loosening the limb pocket pivot cap screws at all before adjusting draw weight up or down?

I am not sure what you are referring to. Don't have any cap screws?? You got a pic?
On my Mini their are two limb bolts. I adjust them one turn alternating.
