Is anyone wearing out their rests? Getting some "spray". Haven't quite figured it out yet.
I have not but I don't shoot a bunch. I did get a spare rest, string and cables with my mini.Is anyone wearing out their rests? Getting some "spray". Haven't quite figured it out yet.
I only had one small issue with a cam leaning. I called Jerry at Huckory Creek and he was alot of help. I suggest you give him a call.Wasn’t sure where else to go to ask… I’ve had my mini for about 3 years now. Since I’ve had it the arrows have always hit the target at an angle and not very consistent. I hadn’t shot it in over a year… missed all of last season with shoulder surgery. I’ve been out all afternoon trying to get it sighted in and it never hits the same place twice. I have it set to the maximum draw weight and I am shooting the arrows that come with it with 100 grain broad heads. I even tried field points and they are the same! I just have a cheap red dot scope on it. Everything is tight, so I wouldn’t think it would move around if everything is tight! I don’t know what else to do! I should mention that I have always had crossbows, so I don’t know anything about tuning a bow. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
You could call Jerry, you could also shoot those arrows through paper and attempt to adjust the rest until they’re shooting straight. Nock high means move the rest up a little, and I’m preeeeettyy sure it’s the same as a compound where nock right means move the rest to the left (which is counterintuitive). And then of course vice versa if your nock is opposite of above.Wasn’t sure where else to go to ask… I’ve had my mini for about 3 years now. +1 for reaching out to Jerry. I recently purchased a used mini from a member and had a concern about a serving coming undone at the Y on one cable. New to crossbows, 150lb draw weight had me concerned so was calling to order a new set to be safe. Jerry took a few minutes talk assess the problem, explain how it was nothing of concern and then talked me out of buying cables by just retying the serving. Even talked me through that. 5 shots later I was smashing x’s.Wasn’t sure where else to go to ask… I’ve had my mini for about 3 years now. Quantify quite a bit of drop? Broad heads or field points? Are you shooting max draw weight? So I’m shooting a pretty heavy setup and finding quite a bit of drop when shooting at 30 yards in comparison to 20. I’m running around 300gr up front on 250 spine arrows. Wondering if a new string might fix some of the drop?
This is sort of what I was figuring too, but thought it may be worth the question. I’m shooing max draw weight, both field points and broadheads, and the bow is in spec. I’ve tried out a few different arrow/broadhead setups and they seem to fly different. Sweet spot seems to be the 300 vs the 250, but I’m unsure on how that’ll look paper tuned.Quantify quite a bit of drop? Broad heads or field points? Are you shooting max draw weight?
Is the string in good shape and bow tuned to specs?
Can’t speak specifically to the mini but know enough about vertical bow tuning to be doubtful a string change will be the answer if it’s in spec.
I do know that when I’m running super heavy arrows my pin gaps open way up.
