Hickory Creek Koolaid

Downsides (or differences) compared to other crossbows is what I assume you're looking for?

- Speed - with the stock arrows, you're topping out at 330fps with a really light arrow setup. The proper way to define this is energy. Think of it this way - the mini is equivalent to a 70/30 down the middle IBO compound in terms of energy output from the power stroke. How do I know this? It fires the same weight arrow as my compound with -+5fps - at any weight up to 600 grains.

- Vertical versus horizontal orientation - Pros and cons here are in the eye of the beholder. But it's tiny, so not sure it really matters.

- Most crossbows give you a single "fiddle point" - you choose your broadheads. Most everything else is fixed. WIth the mini - you're really shooting a compound bow with a drawloc. You have some options for adjustment and customization you don't with crossbows. Again, pro or con depending on your perspective.

As far as pure downsides related to specific users, I have a couple. These are absolute - as in not compared to other crossbows. I have no desire to own any other crossbow.

- I can't really find a good way to tote the thing around for quick deployment on shot opportunities. This is a me problem for sure. But the ease of packing it on my pack and stand setups is really nice.

- Because there is so much room for me to tinker, I have a small increase in my anxiety level in the background of every hunt. I'm worried about bolts being tight, and assembly being done correctly. This is also a me problem because i can't help but tinker. If you bought the bow, and loctited everything, you'd never worry.

It is a very effective tool. Odds are you won't be dissapointed.
What are you using as a bow hanger? Was wondering if I’d wanna hang it from the stirrup or the cam

I tied a piece of paracord to the other end.

I hung mine from the stirrup or the but stock using the hero clip.

I've grown tired of the string digging into my fingers after a few shots. Also grew tired of taking gloves on and off while practicing. Took this piece of scrap leather and fashion up little string tab to help. This works great and easily fits in your back pocket when not in use...

I built the leather string pull you pictured, this is great I can practice for hours with no finger strain. Thanks for the tip brother!

What has anyone done for string replacement or do I even need to replace them?

Has anyone found a soft padded case that the mini fits in decent with out disassembly?
I wonder if Jerry at Custom Gear Modifications would be interested in adding this to his product line.

I've considered buying this case, which I'm pretty sure would fit the Mini:
https://www.amazon.com/Allen-Company-Crossbow-Standard-Crossbows/dp/B08P5ZQG2Y

And then I'd probably search far and wide to find some foam for it; either pick-n-pluck or sheets I could carve to fit.

Just got mine in the mail. Was reading the thread again to review the latest loctite guidance, "every fastener" seems to be the answer. No worries, I'm a big fan of blue loctite.

I ordered mine now because I wanted to make sure I got it in time to get setup and dialed in before September. Jerry did say they are having supplier issues just like everyone else in the country. If you want one, I'd suggest buying it now, rather than later.

I see they are $ 799.00. That price has been on their way page for awhile or am I missing something.

I talked to Deer Crossing Archery and they said their arrows do not need to be nocked tuned. What has been your experience with these?
