Horn Hunter Full Curl Lite

Does anyone know what the total weight of the Full Curl Lite G3 Combo weighs in at? Also what is the capacity of the G3 pack?

Currently I have the Eberlestock M5 RMEF Team Elk Pack and I like it a lot but it is just not quite what I'm looking for. Sometimes I do a little bit of mobile hunting and I'm packing in a 10 lb XOP Vanish Evolution stand with either 3 or 4 of the full length XOP climbing sticks which weight between 9.6-12.8 lbs. So once I strap them to the back of the 6.5 lb Team Elk pack I'm already at 29-30 lbs and feels even heavier than what it is because the stand and sticks cant be packed right against your back on the frame. I think I eventually need to explore some other options along the lines of saddle hunting to reduce a good bit of weight.

Hey Everyone

Is g3 on the lite quite material?
Is it the same volume as standalone g3(2200 cu. In)?
How long/wide are the hip belt packets, do you think they would be fit 6.5in phone?

Do you think it would be a good fit for 6.4 tall /220 pounds guy?

Thank you in advance

I’m 6,2” and 240ish and it fits me just fine. No issues carrying and no hot spots or discomfort. The hip pockets would be fine for a phone but are somewhat difficult to access while wearing (too far back).

No experience with the g3 pack unfortunately so can’t help you there.

Here’s my entire early season kit with the full curl lite.

And Here’s the lite with the g2 pack. I can fit a whole insulated parka(first lite solitude - I’ve also put the sanctuary parka in there too. Just a little more snug) inside of it. I’ve also packed in my sanctuary bibs between sticks and back and lashed it all down.

How did this set up work out for you? It's exactly what I'm looking for.

These packs look pretty full featured and in what I would consider a reasonable price range. Building out a pack system from the big names gets me short of breath.

Honestly I love it. Not much I would change about it. I ran the full curl lite all of 2020 season and prior to that used the regular full curl for 2018 and 2019 seasons. Couple minor things I would change but overall it’s a great pack that hauls gear well at a very reasonable price point. There’s just really no reason you should spend a $1000 on a high end pack brand if you’re just hitting the whitetail woods and hauling sub 20lbs of saddle hunting gear.

That's great feedback, thank you. Thanks for the pics of the pack open too. Horn Hunters website has the most basic pictures of the OUTSIDE of the pack.
I liked what I saw from that ATA video on the G3 pack, but seems like the storage on the G2 would probably be enough for me. I learned this past year how nice it is not to pack the kitchen sink with me in the woods.

I’m glad to see horn hunter getting some love on here. I used the main beam for two seasons and then switched to the full curl combo two years ago. Honestly, the spacious hip belt pockets and the bat wings carry pretty much all my gear with the exception of clothing. When using my JX 3 I don’t need the horn hunter, but when hunting from the ground it is my go to. I picked up a camouflage 30 L dry bag on camofire for around 19 bucks, and it stores all of my puffy layers and keeps them dry. It rides on the meat shelf as if it was custom-made for the full curl.

That's a good idea there. I didn't notice before that the full curl has three straps across the front instead of the two that the lite version comes with. I like the outside zippers on the batwings too.

If you were to run without a bag riding on the meat shelf, would the batwing straps allow you cinch them down to where they would ride against the back frame tightly or would there always be space between the wings and frame?

You can cinch them down to almost flat.

I wonder if it'd be possible to do some thread injecting on the rear facing side of the pack to add the "stick straps" that the lite version has in the center. Make strapping sticks/platform easier and more secure.

Then keep everything in the wings/hip belt in the warmer part of the season, which here in TX is damn near the whole season lol

The frame panel Is zippered on both and has a deep pocket the length of the frame. Honestly you don’t really need them. They seem like a good idea on the lite, but just end up being another set of straps to fuss with. At least on more than one occasion I’ve considered cutting them off.

That makes sense. I guess more isn't always better.

My full curl lite setup with hawk 30” sticks, mantis, predator platform strapped to the frame with my other gear and first lite jacket in the pack. Had the new kuiu pro 3600 and highly prefer this horn hunter over the experience I had with the kuiu

I'm glad there's some positive feedback out there for this pack. I'll probably end up ordering one for this year.
