This is a Chris Spikes video showing what to look for when you are scouting for fresh deer sign. I thought this was a good illustration of what people, especially new hunters, should be looking for while scouting. When you find this, hunt it. Where I hunt, there is fairly low deer density so the sign will be more subtle than this, but it is still there. These are persimmons but acorn feeding sign will look the same.

Chris has been dropping quite a few videos recently and they are great. He hunts public land with trad gear and piles them up. Enjoy!
