Recently after working on and shooting my sons bow, I found myself unable to find my Hot Shot Vapor 3. I scoured my house for it, the yard, anywhere I might have set it for "safe keeping" and forgot, it was gone. I had a wrist release backup, so I moved back to that for a while, until my wonderful wife allowed me to pick up another handheld style. A bit had passed, and the vapor still hadn't shown up, until last night. My eldest son comes into the house and gives it to me, it was 30+ feet from my property line, in the neighbors yard. The jaw was locked up, it was full of nasty (it had been raining some while it was out there). I had already pretty much counted it as a loss anyways, so i didn't have much to lose.

I unscrew the side, pry it open, cleaned and wd40'd the internal parts. Got it functioning again. While reassembling it, the internal spring flew out and got lost. Today I called Hot Shot Archery a few times throughout the day, no answer. Left a message and waited for a call back (I guess they dont have a receptionist, its a small operation and they just return calls instead). I sought out a place to order the spring for it online so i could just replace the spring, and asked that question on one of the release buy/sell/trade groups I'm in, see if someone there could point me in the correct direction.

Someone on there tagged one of the people that work for hot shot, so we messaged a little bit. They are going to take it apart, check it out, replace the spring and make sure it is completely functional for me, all I have to do is mail it to them. Hot Shot releases come with a lifetime warranty apparently, and from what the gentleman I spoke to, Robin, short of all the internal bits being missing, its covered. They didn't ask me where I got it, if I was original owner, nothing, just that it will be taken care of.

Amazing customer service so far! They have impressed me so far, and are going above and beyond for me.

My release was returned to me already, they no only replaced the spring in it, but it appears they also replaced all the external hex bolts and they threw a hat in the box for me as well. Top notch service, went way above and beyond.

That's sweet to hear. I have the Vapor 4 and I really like it for my first hand held release. I won't be going back to my wrist one anytime soon.
