I like to camp in the back of my truck with a camper shell. Simple is best. I just put in a twin sized aor mattress with my equipment beside me. I just got a travel trailer and I am planning on using for the opener soon so we will see how that works out.

Camping is a great way to save money. Both by not paying for a hotel, and not wasting gas driving to/from hunting spots. I’m all about it, especially if you’re heading west.

I had a couple friends that I used to hunt and camp with. Those were awesome times. Alas they are gone now.

Yep, this is huge. Most of the places we've hunted out west would have taken 2 hours one way every day to get there. That just doesn't work for me.

Sorry to hear you don't have any friends @rutjr - I'll be your friend. :)

Bought this camper for hunting trips and summer camping with the boss.
With a small Yamaha generator it’s a compact all in one unit. Has a full kitchen with norcold frig, small gas stove. Fan and AC and a electric blanket for really cold weather. Have camped in sub 20’s and didn’t need the electric blanket. 15 gal water storage also. Only weighs 1200 lbs. I pull it with my taco or the boss’s Honda Pilot. Not roughing it by no means but less set up and break down.

I do motels if hunt time is for 3 days or less but tent camp pmatve, if longer. Took my last mule deer and antelope in Wyoming that way on BLM land.

I like my hammock with bug netting and fly.... camp can be made in 5 mins. However, I much prefer a motel these days, like Dewey said above, a good nights sleep is vital for long term motivation..... I just hunt better when I sleep good.
