How many deer have you killed?

Just acknowledging, to myself, the fact that less time "could" mean less opportunities; not that I changed my hunting style or locations lol. I still could have opportunities at the ghosts that I enjoy chasing, but also gotta put something in the freezer too! Another reason is my primary wishlist buck finally died of natural causes somewhere after the 2021 season, nothing spectacular 2022 season, some decent ones this year, but next season should be awesome! I've had some really good opportunities, but you can't close on them all either... Still pushing as hard as I can, everything allowing! For me this is literally not a hobby, it is what I live and work towards all year (obviously second to family, etc.). Me and the wife are raising a family integrated into the outdoors!
 
Im 54 with 34 seasons hunting. Started at 12-17, quit and restarted in my late 20's. Close to or exceeding 200 by now im sure, with 100+ with a bow. Several seasons I killed 20-25 before I switched to being picky. Killed Whitetail in 14 states. Primarily hunt SC and NC nowadays. Most of my WT kills are in those two states. We have very liberal limits. I average 8-9 a year now, mostly does . I only shoot mature bucks for the most part. Sometimes i get tempted on public to shoot a young buck.

Age 35
Started at 24 (11 seasons)
From DE, now in OH
7 years exclusively public, last 4 years exclusively private
3 bucks (1 button), 2 does (5 deer)
Missed or wounded at least 5 deer (a stat I decided to add for my own ego-check) and didn’t recover one buck in time, meat spoiled
All compound bow

Damn. 45 in 6 years? I gotta move to TN!

It has actually been on the not so distant retirement destination list. No state income tax, right?

When you started: 11

How many seasons: 31 never missed a single one. I hunted them all, but there were a couple that I zeroed when I was in my rut phase.

Where you're from/where you generally hunt: Louisiana, Louisiana

And how many deer you've kilt: 120ish deer
 
I don’t have a clue how many. But it’s a lot. Killed my first one when I was 13. 54 now so that’s 41 years. Never missed an entire season. Had a few cut short due to being under way and deployed. I hit em hard in my 16-18 age range. Hit em hard again ( deer and turkeys) in the mid to late 90’s. Career and work slowed it some but picked the pace back up in my early 40’s and haven’t slowed much since. Some seasons I kill 10+. Others 5. Never been skunked. Grew up in Alabama and now live in SC so I’ve benefitted from high bag limits and being marked safe from trophy hunting.
