See you in a tree, Ricky

2 or 3 for me these days because we are empty nesters now. When I was in graduate school 25 years ago I would kill 5 or 6 per year because we were poor and that was the cheapest way to get meat. My wife got sick of it and now she will only occasionally eat some bacon wrapped backstrap and maybe some ground venison in spaghetti or chili.

I am allowed two tags in my area. One is now filled. The other is bow only

I like to take 5. Typically 2 does and a buck with my bow and a doe or two with my rifle. I killed 3 does and a buck with my bow this year...and then got a wastage tag for a big bodied buck I ran over...long story. So I got 5 deer in the freezer! Rifle season starts here tomorrow and I'll ONLY shoot big bucks or does to donate for share the harvest. I have the tags I just simply don't think my kids and I could eat all that meat if we tried!

I get can get two tags. Deer are not super plentiful here

I normally average 4 to fill the freezer. I'm at 4 now for the this year but I want another one or two since I started smoking summer sausage so I want some extra to make more. Plus I like to give my sisters some jerky for Christmas every year.

I am from Louisiana where our season limit is 3 does, 2 bucks, 1 either sex tag.
I make an occasional trip out of state and sometimes harvest an animal (deer or elk)

I typically kill 2-3 deer per year and that is enough for our family.
My kids have started hunting and have supplemented our harvest the last few years.
My dad is starting to get to the age that he wants to go but his body isn't cooperating so I help where I can.
I have a brother and several co-workers that enjoy deer meat but don't hunt much if I get more than usual.
No, I never stop hunting from September through February.

I have three tags, one can be a buck. Got one doe so far. Granted, I've eaten tag soup the past three seasons. Would like at least one more because the doe was a yearling. Been too picky the last few seasons and have had botched shots with my bow. Muzzleloader comes in this weekend. I can shoot a buck or one doe with a muzzleloader on my public spot or one of each with a bow. Ideally a nice buck, but I'll take what I can get ha. For just near me and my wife 2-3 is plenty for burger and some sausage.

I get at least 1 a year here in SE Michigan. My goal is 2 this year tho. 3 would be a blessing....4 the year of a lifetime

And your population supports that type of harvest rate? Man, you guys must be drowning in deer. Do you eat all of them or give some away?

I don’t kill them out of one spot, I hunt several WMAs and private properties. Here in TN we have several units for deer, I live in Unit L which allows 3 does per day.
