How many Thermacells have you lost?

Is it just me or is it easy to loose Thermacells? I have lost two Thermacells since I started using them about 4 years ago. I lost one deer scouting two years ago and another turkey hunting this spring.

Feel free to share below how many you have lost.

Almost lost one the other day, but heard something drop off me as I was stalking toward one of my hunt locations. So for me it’s still zero lost. Now I keep it tethered to me with small diameter shock cord. I don’t usually use the holster, but I do have one of them. It’s a good option if you’re losing them. The holster offers some good tie-in points.

I usually lose one every year. I actually found one someone else lost on public last year. So now I have 2.

I was in the woods today and I know for a fact that if I had lost mine I would have IMMEDIATELY known it. They were voracious. OFF didn’t even phase them. It did fall off of me a couple of time though.

I haven't lost/misplaced any but have lost/it's broken now 1...the ignition stopped worked after a rain... Cover them up as best u can if it starts raining.. remember, that things hot and cover accordingly....hahaha

B careful. I had a freind loose one fishing. It started a fire in pine needles. I never would of thought it could happen. I've lost them and now make tethers to attach to me just incase. I went fishing a few weeks ago. Got to spot deep in woods and thermacel was gone. Spent hour looking but found it. Was riding ebike and stick got caught it pedals and I fell. Found it under leaves. I wasn't leaving without it.

I'm on my second unit. My first isn't lost per se. I know pretty much where it is. I could find it in 10 minutes of looking once in the general area. The 2 hour drive and hour long paddle to get to that general location is what keeps it "lost".

I've never lost them but have had the ignition go out on one and another burnt up after (i think) the o-ring on the butane canister was compromised and it caught fire. We were camped on a floating platform and the thing got promptly kicked into the river once it started spurting flames.

About the only reason I have one is to keep on the back porch and use on the boat when Miss Tissue-Paper-for-Skin goes with me. I like me some 40-99% cancer juice. I've got a can in the backpack, the boat, and both vehicles.

I put a strap on the outside of my pack and attach it with shock cord tied in a loop and figure 8 around it. The strap covers the switch to the gas to keep it off or on. Don’t have to get it out just turn it on on the outside of the pack.

I did lose one for about three years and found it in a bin in the attic right after I bought a new one. Figures. But it still works. Which means that if I have a back-up, I will never lose any of them. That's my luck.

I lost one in a standing corn field. Looked but couldn’t find it. That was with the case too! The design doesn’t lend itself to being strapped down well.
