How much have you spent on your saddle setup?

Just purchased my first saddle and setup:

150 for trophyline lite
50 in rope for tether, linemans, rappel rope and cordage
had biners from rock climbing
had a set of sticks

I've practiced a bit now and I think all I need is a platform, planning to build one from scrap metal I have.
Going to work on DRT method, bolts or sticks to climb.

So 200 total? There's a lot of awesome gear out there but I think I can get by.

Hilarious how we can all self justify. I need to stop reading these kinds of threads. I've never laughed harder.... laughing with you mind you.... not at you!!! What does it take to become affiliated with a company so I don't have to buy my own stuff anymore???? :fearscream:

No kidding!! How do I become pro staff for Eastern Woods Outdoors? DanO taking applications?

Mine is so dang cheap it’s embarrassing at times. I’m all for being thrifty and living within our means but goodness if I want to buy a friggin pizza on Friday night I don’t want to hear any lip! We never eat out and when we do splurge on a fancy fancy meal we are usually left dissatisfied. This only encourages her not wanting to spend any money eating out haha. I can’t really complain though, the women saves money and keeps me from spending too much too. It’s better than being in debt and poor. I’m glad she’s not a spender! She doesn’t have a problem with me getting toys either but I’ve been pretty modest in my saddle hunter spending. I’ve sold or bought and resold everything that I have thus far besides my sticks and I got those two years ago so they don’t count. Sold my hang ons and other various items to get in the door.

I have spent about $475 so far. The main thing i have left to buy is some form of platform. Im thinking i will go with the ooal scout, which will put me at about 560 total.

I have:
Tethrd phantom - 275 shipped
API sticks - 99
2 carabiners from amazon - 20
27 feet of oplux - appx 60 shipped
2 beal jammys - 22
generic amazon pouch - 10

So I couldn’t help myself and had to sit down and tally up roughly what I’ve spent on saddle gear. Mind you this is ONLY saddle related gear. Does not take into account bow, accessories, clothing, boots, anything else. This is only stuff directly related to saddle setup. Here goes:

H2 saddle
Triad bridge
DMM carabiner
Tether rope (Muddy linesman’s belt for this)
Petzl carabiner
Climbing rope
Lineman’s rope (also Muddy lineman’s belt)
Back Diamond carabiners (x3)
Ropeman 1
Black Diamond single rope ATC
Tethrd back rest
Muddy gear hooks
EWO daisy chains (x5)
Kong triangle
General use carabiners (x4)
Grappling hook (to pick up gear off the ground and hopefully not have to get out of the tree)
Orange paracord and orange carabiner (to retrieve rappelling rope)
Tree Hopper steps (x2) and OCB strap
Wicked Tree pruners
Bahco Laplander folding saw
Hunter Specialties bow harness
Mad Rock Safeguard
Wild Edge rope aider
Kong ascender
WE Stepp ladder (8 steps)
OOAL Ridge Runner platform (x2) (because I wasn’t thinking and sold my first one and immediately regretted it, so ordered another one)
Tree Hopper Crotch Rocket platform
Rubber arrow puller (to cover the spikes on the crotch rocket platform)
20” Hawk Helium sticks
EWO Uktralight climbing stick (x1)
Custom AmSteel 1 step aider for EWO stick
4 packs of small Nite Ize gear ties
1 pack medium/large Nite Ize gear ties
Mossy Oak backpack
Foam seat pad (for knees against the tree)

Grand (gross) total: $1665

All of this was not bought all at once of course. Spanned out over the last 2 years or so. And not all of it I carry all at the same time either of course. Hah! That would suck. There are other misc things not mentioned but all of this is the main stuff. I’m sure I’m not done with adding to the list either.

I hope Ive not destroyed any marriages by starting this thread. Its been a barrel of fun reading all the replies. Looks like most of us are in the same boat on spending. We could argue the saddles are better than boats. Bank on another thousand..... seriously.

Just pulled the trigger on some scentlok and merino wool. That should do me-......... Yeah right

Currently just "completed" (like that really happens) my first setup:
H2 saddle kit
Tree Hopper Tree Suit
Hawk Helium 20"
Aiders, Amsteel Daisy Chains, and Molle Clips from DanO

All together right at $590. Throw in my new Bear Kuma 30 and accesories, arrows, and broadheads and its more like $1,800.
