How to Burn Money

Well.... Will it fit in a pack?
Yes. :)

For everybody wondering my thought process behind this, here goes.

Healthy Nutterbuster is usually around 170-180lbs and likes bolts and a ring of steps. Last year Healthy Nutterbuster started morphing into Chunky Nutterbuster at around 200. This summer Chunky Nutterbuster evolved into Fatazz Nutterbuster at 230.

Fat Nutterbuster had a come-to-Jesus moment when he started messing with his gear around mid-July. Gear that never made sense started making sense. I can't climb with bolts. I dang sure can't stand on them comfortably at this weight. Can't do a lot of hunting-related stuff actually, which sucks. Went on a scouting trip yesterday and for probably the first time in my life quit because I was whupped.

So, I need fat man gear. 4 mini sticks because I'm definitely not used to climbing fat and need it as easy as possible. Platform because 230lbs on feet built for 170 on a ROS gets old quick.

Specifically speaking about the decision to chop a mission, even at a healthy weight the predator and ambush flex underfoot. At my current weight they feel super sketchy to me. The mission I bought on the classifieds is a beast of a platform but remarkably solid. Almost as solid as a treehopper (kinda small for chonkerbuster). I chopped the platform to make it basically the same size as the EDP. I also removed the ridiculous "foot rest" on the post and chopped the post to make it level with the front of the platform when folded and relocated the batwing and button. So now I basically have a platform that is right between the predator and edp in size and weight and very, very sturdy underfoot. It's fugly and goofy, but I honestly like it more than any other folder I've tried. I think the lack of flex and top-post pulling makes it feel bigger than it is since you can utilize all the room without feeling like you're about to break it or slide off. Probably in my head.

I'm finally committed to losing weight and should be back in hunting shape by season, but this is a "hope for the best and plan for the worst" setup. I now have 3 packs with 3 hunting setups. One for skinny nutterbuster to climb trees if he shows up (bolts), one for nuttybuddy (sticks and The Mession), and one for ground hunting (pac seat and fleece backpack). I can now move on.

Yeah. It didn't work. Or more accurately it didn't last long. In hindsight my old job was making me depressed and susceptible to really bad habits. Not exaggerating when I say I think 3 more years might have ended in death or divorce.

I thought you cut it to fit in a bucket. But your rationale is rational.

If you couldn't find a buyer and won't ever want the bigger platform, it's $170 cheaper than another option and will be just fine...albeit an eyesore...but it's not like you designed it that way. Just working with what you've got.

With all the exploring you're doing this season, probably good to have such a packable platform.

Yep. I could have sold the mission but for a small loss especially assuming taxes and shipping on an edp. I've never actually laid hands on an edp, but looking at pics I'd have probably wacked the post and the handle anyway.

I'm not advocating this as a solution for anybody. If you want this sized platform, buy an edp. I'm just impatient and mentally unbalanced from heat, close proximity to deer season, and trying to run a daily 2,000 calorie deficit.

Good luck. I have pretty much ditched carbs and sugar and it has helped me immensely. I was getting up to that 230 mark and at 50+ that really sucked. I'm around 185 now and feel much better and have more energy and more...... vitality. I try to fast around 16 hours every day so I eat lunch and dinner and the only carbs I may comsume are from certain veggies. To lose try to keep your carbs at 20grams or less per day. Once you're at your target weight, you can consume up to 50grams max per day. What I also like about this is you don't portion control. I always struggled with diets because I was always hungry. Eat the high protein and high fat and high leafy green veggies until you're comfortably full and you will not be always craving. Also, if you do crave and you are in your fasting period, drink water with lemon or flavored water without carbs or sugar.

I've lost 7 lbs I the last.2 weeks...haven't changed.the diet one bit...I run 3miles, 3 time.a week. I run hard the whole time. If it's not under 22mins I'm pissed. Hope to be back down to 175 in the somewhat near future...

Ps I Royally hate running...but it works.

Try jogging the 1st five minutes at mid-intensity (5 out of 10) or less, then go intensity 6,7,8,9,10 each for one minute for three consecutive sets.

You'll likely get more out of that.

Nutterbuster I’m 40 and had a heart attack in March in my widow maker…lucky to still be kicking…I had just brought home a truck load of gravel to spread that day…Long story short, I went from 211 to 180 quickly and somewhat easily (You could say I was sufficiently motivated tho…) by going low fat. 40grams or so a day. Loads of chicken and lots of turkey burger tacos (I survive on tacos, it’s in-American not to…). I feel better than I have in years and look like I did when I got married 16 years ago. Lose it. You won’t ragret it! And for what it’s worth, the platform looks good to me!
