Hungry fat kid problems

No apologies necessary, you asked a very valid question and you received very valid answers. I hope something we offered up helps you when you get hungry. I typically only carry food with me during the rut or gun season when I'm sitting all day long and I start to get cold and hungry. I would hate to leave a hot stand because I didn't prepare a little bit. But the thermos of hotdogs, albeit weird sounding, works and its really a whole bunch of stuff you need in one place without noisy wrappers etc. You get done, screw on the lid and stuff it back in your pack. Wieners for Whitetails!!!!

Now I want to upgrade my thermos. It doesn’t keep the chicken broth hot all day. I always fill the thermos with boiling water to heat it up. Then boil the chicken broth and replace the water with chicken broth.

Who has recommendations for a good thermos? Would be used for beef broth and Hebrew national franks.

https://www.grainger.com/product/TH...ess-14L935?opr=APPD&analytics=altItems_14L913 Kind of pricey and I was disappointed to see they are now made in china but these are along the lines of something useful. Also comes with a neat SS foldable spoon.

Anybody just take beef or chicken bouillon cubes to dissolve in hot water?....I would think that could tide u over for a good while...never tried but seems like a good option

We just had a big thing about thermii, Zojirushi, is the name. I bought one and did a trial in my freezer, the dang thing kept water hot for like a whole day in there. I have a coffee thermos but I bet they make a solid top one for soup.

So my primary hunting land is 4 hours from the house, so once I get in the stand I don't like moving and try to make the most of every minute. My problem is I get hungry. What do you guys take in the stand? I have tried kind bars, cliff bars, granola bars, sandwiches, home made protein bars.... They all leave me wanting more. I am not eating the whole time and I will pre open them at the truck to get rid of those noisy wrappers. I am game to try a bunch of stuff from homemade to store bought. Help this fat kid out, please.
I have cooked chicken, hamburger or steak pieces in a bag that helps curve the appetite. I will cook extra food when cooking dinner and with a couple cliff bars and water I am good to go. Good luck.

After about a week on MREs you turn into the playdough factory: if something goes in at the top, something else is coming out the bottom.
Ate them almost exclusively for close to a month in 2006..... still have issues lol, but I'm not talking about living on these things, I just like a hardy meal something more than broth for all day sits, IMO this is the best way to give me the comfort to do it. That and hot sticks from last years deer I always get the last deer made into dang near all hotsticks vaccum pack em and deep freeze for the next season for before I get one on the ground....

Yeah, sounds funny, but all summer I have a bowl of cut up watermelon in the fridge. I cut strawberries in half and freeze them, kids like those for an after dinner type of dessert. Peaches, mangoes, and now it is muscadine grape season.
