28” carbon to carbon 340 spine GT Hunter XT with 200gn ethics inserts tipped with 125gn Cutthroat single bevels. Still messing with 3 fletch, 4 fletch, fobs and Zinger fletched. The 4 fletches are coming in at 622gn and 22% FOC.

Black eagle 300's,95 grains of brass up front and a single bevel samurai 125 gr and lighted nocks get me to 565 grains total weight with 18%FOC. I shoot a halon x at 60# with 29.5 mods, arrows are around 240 fps.

70-75 doug fir
real turkey feathers for fletching's, white paint crested with a tophat adapter for lighted nock
100 grain woodie weight with 135 grain zwickey delta
650 grain total

Wal-Mart Mossy Oak 55-70lb bin $6 arrows.
Those are actually made by Victory and are VForce Gamers .003 350.
Cutting the 31's down to 29.75, squaring both ends, and at least the one I bareshaft played with liked the ethics archery ranch fairy kit's 250gn field point: Bullet holes at 5yd, pointing nearly straight back at me without any adjustment.

Waiting for ethics inserts to come in so I can go back to the range and play with 100gr field points and buzzcut broadheads.

I'm shooting a Mathews VXR28 @ 63 lbs. and 29" @ 254 FPS. The arrow is a Gold Tip Kinetic Kaos 300 spine cut at 28.5” (with both ends squared) from the throat of the nock, a 85 gr. insert system, a left-helical (natural arrow rotation) 4-fletch with AAE PM23 vanes, and a 125 gr. left-bevel Strickland Helix broadhead (most likely). Bare shaft tuned for spine, nock tuned for individual spine, bare shaft paper tuned, and then tested at distance to make sure groups do not walk left or right. This setup is primarily for whitetail deer. Total arrow weight around should be about 550 grains. I haven't calculated FOC as of yet.

If I bump my insert weight to 105 gr., I can shoot a 100 gr. head without any noticeable difference (either via tuning or point-of-impact).

I added another 20 grains. I’m now up to 541 with 18% Foc. It’s shooting great and almost going through the targets. I just ordered 3” parabolic feathers. Hopefully I’ll have them finished by Tuesday. 821014C8-77A1-440E-94BE-0894FE869449.pngA7E4ADF6-F8DF-4356-A418-C787EDDA3C20.png

So what matter more; FOC or total weight?

I think foc is more important

That's my understanding as well. Having the weight towards the front of the arrow helps pull the arrow through the target. You can put weight tubes inside your arrow to increase weight, but that's not helping FOC. The weight will help with kinetic energy. But I'm not a physicist.

That’s why I went with gold Tip FACT weights. I can add or subtract weight as needed.

Arrow flight is the most important thing. Do some bare shaft tuning. Get your bare shaft dialed in. Do not give up arrow flight for a higher foc.

I took the fletching of my maxima reds 350’s and shot them. I have lost two deer since I got these a few years ago. Not saying this is the reason but I’m beginning to think it played a factor. Needless to say I’m going to a sirius 250 spline.

Get on YouTube and study the bare shaft tuning process that the Ranch Fairy shows. It’s game changing.
