Hunting Hoody

I really like that pattern!!
My favorite is the kaibab 170 merino wool quarter zip and the Uinita pants... pants are very tough but only weigh 11 ounces. Side zippers for venting and dry really fast. Four front pockets are perfect when using a saddle. The wool is very soft and light. I have the grey and green patterns for early and late season. The frequently have 20-30% off sales if you keep an eye out!

This hits a lot of my points! Thanks. Not sure on long term quality as I’ve never used the brand. Anyone have any of this stuff?
I thought the same thing. My concerns are material noise and rigidity for drawing the bow, but I'd love to hear others' experiences with it, if any.

I do not currently own this but I might get one. It should be for the most part quiet being made of wool.

Reviving this old thread because I may have found the perfect hunting hoodie, or at least as close as I've seen. It's the Midweight Hoodie from ASIO Gear, which is a newer brand that makes high-end camo clothing based on the natural patterns of owls. I like the concept of putting the grid fleece on the outside to add depth and absorb light, along with the deep zipper and kangaroo pocket. Has anyone tried this, or any other ASIO products, out yet??

Just got in the mail the thermo-wool vest. First thoughts and impressions are the material is super quiet. It stays pretty tight to my body, I did go with a medium and will be picking up a large in the hoodie when sportsman's guide restocks.

Check out kings anarak, 1/4 zip, kangaroo pocket, hood, and side zip vent. I dont have one yet, may ask santa for one.

For the price of the kings I would go with the Sitka Dakota. The Dakota is a proven piece.

I’m happy with the below I bought off Field Supply ( surplus / overstock type site.)
Alpha Scentblocker Fleece. Price jumped up to 99$ but was 65$.
List was over $200 and aside from being a 2012 model and having to cut off the goofy logos it’s a solid piece. Wind block is great and quiet.

my long term plan is to continue to switch to quality merino

I have hunted deer. It’s not too bad but there are definitely quieter materials. The Dakota is excellent and if it’s windy the noise is non factor. The Dakota is not perfect but it’s warm and functional.
Edit: After looking more into the Kings that maybe a decent system. Still unproven and it’s not a hoodie but a full jacket.
I am now going to add the Sitka Gradient hoodie to the list. It looks like it will check most the boxes.

Interesting, who’s going to try it first?
It checks a lot of my boxes (plus the high pockets would be great for wearing with waders, but I’m hesitant because I really think having a light-absorbing fabric (wool, fleece, flannel, etc.) is much better for an outer garment. For $50, though, I’m awfully tempted...
