I am at a place in life for the next year or so where I am required to look at screens and cram information into my brain for a large chunk of my day every day. Last night I picked up an old hunting magazine before bed and really enjoyed just flipping through it and looking at the pictures etc. So, I am thinking about subscribing to a couple of hunting magazines for something to flip through occasionally when winding down at night. I am looking at Petersons bowhunting or bowhunter and also thought about North American Whitetail. Thoughts? Any favorites out there?

I like flipping through Petersen’s. There are quite a few ads but that’s to be expected. Only $10 for a year.

Off and on I subscribe. I have always found value in Bowhunter and Peterson's Bowhunting as well as North American Whitetail. Since I'm not a landowner I do get annoyed at all the land management stuff in NAW sometimes but looking at the big bucks always makes me like it overall. Probably my favorite all around magazine is Fur, Fish & Game. It has a little bit of everything plus trapping which is a land management concept that doesn't require tractors, planters, seeders, and large acres of land ownership. Funny I just got my renewal notice for NAW today and I tossed it in the circular file. I get in moods but you're right, at $10 year you really can't go wrong. I haven't subscribed to Bowhunting World in many years and never to Traditional Bowhunter Magazine so I may try those if I get in the mood. Good luck.

Yep… I get all 3… if you don’t respond to the first renewal ever year you end up getting that renewal at the last minute pretty cheap.. I always do the gift subscription to my brother and a hunting buddy… if you get 1 good idea from it a year it’s worth it…!

Any thoughts on deciding between Petersons bowhunting and bowhunter? I don't think I will get both of those

Field Ethos has some of the most unique hunting stories I've read as of late, but I'm not exactly sure where they're heading.

Yet I've read the same articles over and over from the big named periodicals, so it's been a decent change of pace.
