I bought a pair of Tingley's in 2018 off his recommendation on the site and they are my go-to boot for any wet or possibly wet situation, still going strong through lots of abuse. Get a size with enough room to add an insole, not a requirement, but nice to have. They are a little stiffer in the ankle area and top than Kick or Lacrosse too.I have found that pretty much all boots suck. I've had rocky, danner, bates, cabelas, irish setter, muck, and lacrosse. They all have a limited life span if you actually, you know, WALK in them.
Just the cost of doing business. I am kinda excited about the tingleys @redsquirrel talked me into. They're cheap enough that it makes the inevitable replacement hurt less.
Aquaseal is what is on mine. You can go cheap by just melting an empty milk jug and letting it drip on/in and around the holes, after trying that, I figured I wasn't that broke. But it worked hahaI thought about testing out the flex seal spray on them.. seriously..
I bought a pair of gumleaf boots this season. Had a hard time justifying spending $250 on a pair of rubber boots, but I spent more than that last season on 2 pairs of lacrosse boots which are both cracked now. The gumleafs are supposed to be 85% rubber vs around 30% in most other "rubber" boots. Put a lot of miles on them this season. So far so good. I'll report back after a couple hundred miles of scouting and shed hunting.
Me tooLol. Let me know when you find a rubber boot that lasts 5+ years. I'll buy a crate.
I ordered directly from them. GumleafUSA.com. I don't believe they are in any retail stores. They were very helpful with fit/sizing. I normally wear a 10.5-11 and went with a size 10 and they fit perfect.@OspreyZB Those look like some quality boots, where did you find them in the states?
