Does anyone here have an ILF bow that they have setup for hunting? I just picked up a 17" satori riser and looking at different limb options for it and wanted to get some advice from guys that have some experience.

I have been looking at the DAS ILF limbs on 3rivers. Specifically the bamboo core and the carbon bamboo core. Not sure if the carbon is worth the additional $150. Anyone have any experience here, carbon/bamboo vs fiberglass/bamboo limbs?

I bought mine off of here. I'm shooting Javaman limbs. It seemed finicky until I added the second nock point below the arrow. Now its scary accurate.
I wouldn't worry about carbon. The one experience I have with them ended with them folding on me.....not fun. Bamboo is fine by itself.

I have the DAS bamboo longbow limbs on mine and they shoot just fine. No experience with the carbon but have seen a lot of comments from folks that have shot both that claim there is not enough difference to warrant the higher price. That was a big part of the reason I opted for the bamboo. That and I have always liked bamboo core limbs.

That's what I was thinking. Wanted to ask around before I made a decision. Been shooting a Samick Sage for the past 3 seasons and thinking any bamboo core limb will be an upgrade.

What size riser and limbs do you have on your satori? Any pictures with the longbow limbs on it? That could be a cool option.

Buy some Uukha’s…you’ll thank me later. I have a pile of DAS recurve and longbow limbs and I’ve never been able to quiet them down. They’ve been relegated to practice/target limbs. Uukha are smoother, faster and QUIET.

I dont have a satori riser. Mine is a 17" bear paw. Ordered the riser from Lancaster and the limbs from 3rivers or vicey versey.

I'm trying to convince myself to spend less money lol. I do enjoy a quiet bow. Haven't seen that talked as much as an advantage. Most discussion revolves around speed and smoothness. Which Uukhas would you recommend? The Gobis seem reasonably priced.

The stiffer limbs seem to be more quiet imo. I have Hoyt foam limbs that are "springy".....they have a twang. My short longbow limbs on my Morrison riser are much quieter.

Until you know for sure this is what you want to do I would stick to the 3 rivers bamboo limbs they shoot real good not as fast as the uukhas or carbon limbs but quieter properly set up and your gonna lose maybe 5 to 10 fps vs the higher end limbs so I would start off cheaper personally I shoot those limbs equally as well as my higher end limbs and a dead deer isn’t gonna worry about if you got high end limbs on your riser

I have a 21" satori riser with Long Uukha Selenga limbs....finished length is 66" recurve setup. The limbs are 40 lbs @ 28...I have a 29.5" draw. This setup pegs out at 45.5 lbs finished weight at 29.5" draw. It shoots a 31" (c2c) traditional only barebow 340 arrow with alum. ethics outsert/insert (55 grains) w/ 200 gr point and 3-4" shield cut feathers…..;total arrow weight is 595 gr. Only mods are TTT string and calf hair shelf. GREAT hunting bow. Shoots great and is very comfortable in hand. To your original question: are the limbs worth the cost? In my opinion…yes.

I have a 17" OMP wood riser, the Sektor and have medium DAS carbon bamboo core limbs, at 35#. On a digital scale they draw 38.4# at 28", which is my DL. They're very smooth drawing, crisp upon release and decent for speed, arrow flight and accuracy with a 600 spine arrow. :)

I also have a 19" Satori riser with short Uukha Gobi limbs, at 45#. On a digital scale they draw 44.3# at 28". Smoother drawing than the DAS limbs, just as crisp upon release, quiet, quick and accurate with a 400 spine arrow. This is my hunting and 3D bow. I have it setup to shoot off of a rug rest and the Hoyt side plate that came with the riser. I shoot 3 fingers under with a string walking method and this setup is the most accurate that I've owned to date.

I have 17" EXE Scream riser with 45# DAS bamboo recurve limbs... love that setup. Shoots great, smooth draw

I noticed that my photos were wrong and corrected them. The photo above is correct with its' description.

The 17" Sektor wood riser in the photo below has medium Samick carbon foam core limbs. While I like these limbs, they're not as smooth shooting as the DAS limbs with the bamboo core.

What is your draw length and preferred pound range?
