ILF

I see this was for a giveaway, but the thread has been revived. Ive been shooting ilf since switching to left hand. It is the ultimate single string platform. You can buy light limbs to start, go heavier as strength improves. You can put on light limbs for bow fishing, heavy for hunting, somewhere inbetween for 3d. The 2 things I like best about ilf is smooth draw and an amazing selection on the used market thanks to so many olympic recurve guys. Im also a fan of metal risers for their robust feeling, ability to change grips to fit the shooter, rest and plunger. Im a huge Border archery fan. They are constantly breaking new ground with their recurve limb advancements.

Where have y’all had luck picking up old risers that work well warfed?

Tradtalk is a little slow moving on people talking about warfs. There are a few black bear risers showing up now and again on archerytalk, leatherwall, tradtalk, and trad gang. Could hunt ebay for old hoyt rambo/specter, bear black bears or garage sales and estate sales if you get real bored.

I've never owned an ILF but my wife has been hinting that she would like a bow. She used to shoot and hunt with a compound back in the 1980. I thought I'd like to try an ILF trig for her but this really needs to be a budget affair. Not sure where I'm going with this right now.

Right handed? Get her this with some cheap wns or galaxy limbs and a berger hole type rest or build up the shelf with furniture pads. Tough to beat for the price imo.

Thanks for the tip. I was actually gonna start a thread asking for some opinions on an affordable ILF rig for my wife. I might just get a couple sets of limbs because I know some kids that I'd like to get started shooting.
