Inexpensive Climbing Solution?

@brentondowdy If it were me, strictly because of the low cost I would do the game winner 2pk climbing sticks that @HappyChappy suggested .
Or the Rivers Edge sticks that one of the other suggested. I have a rivers edge set that i cut down and welded back together to make a one stick and put a piece of 3/4 inch plywood on top for a flat platform. works great for me. Tree steps would be another good idea and if im not mistaken someone offered to let you use a set this season. Man I tell ya, there are a lot of good people on this site that go out of their way to help. One member sent me two different saddles to try this season just so I could hunt with one and see which style fit me best. I understand about the money investment too. Have you looked at the classifieds on here yet? Oh, have you decided on a preferred climbing method?

For cheap, can’t beat the Primal Tree Steps. Pair with knaider and or swaider from EWO (doublesteps.com) and will have a climbing method and can make a ring of them for a platform. Hard to beat. Will need a bag of some kind to carry them in. EWO sells these too.
Also several different ways to climb with stepps without the knaider/swaider.

...that's a really good point.. if OP doesn't have a platform yet, you can climb with 3 steps and assemble a ring platform at the 3rd step... I use WE steps and a predator platform and I still like to put 1 step to the left of my platform for moving around the tree.... puts you around 15ft and a full platform without having to buy ROS or platform

FYI....

i clicked on this to post that 4 hawk minis ad. the game changers are cheap, but they're 12 lbs. I'll also likely have 3 stealth stripped 30 inch hawks for sale soon as well. in my opinion hawks are the best cheap stick, the trophylines etc are nice but close to twice the cost. either cheap sticks or 2tether climbing since you'll need a tether (and a linesman belt generally butin this case a second tether) anyway.

Thank you everyone for all of your ideas and offers to help. I’m blown away by everyone’s support and generosity. I’m taking @Jtaylor on his generous offer to let me try out out his wild edge setup so I know I can succeed and maybe I’ll try to learn 2TC once I have some successful climbs and feel comfortable with the JX3. I think I only need an item or two more to try that and I’m really interested in learning that method. So many great ideas to read up on here though. Thank you!

awesome man!!... yeah you're going to find that if you ask a question on here you're going to get TONS of responses from people who genuinely want to help new people to the community... i was new last year and learned loads on here by browsing and asking questions.. good luck this season!

I might experiment with a quieter version of something like this later on, too. In the least, it looks plenty cost effective.

I know if you go on the Camofire website, they constantly have daily deals for the everyday hunter. My friend just got 4 hawk helium minis for 90 bucks. Great resource.
