Input on layering and decent deals

For mobility, I have come to appreciate full zip merino boot length base layers and full zip pants or bibs. I have added/subtracted the FL base layers as the temps change, or if it's colder and I walk out in base layers, put on the pants or bibs at the tree or in the tree without ever taking boots off.

That’s the one thing I thought I might like with the FL layers is the ability to zip them off as it gets hotter. A lot of times, I’ll walk in, hunt one spot when it’s “cold” in the morning and then walk further or scout my way back further to hunt in the evening. It’s a pain to undress and re dress when I walk and then undress and re dress again once I’m set up. I’m not sure if it’s work the extra $50-70+ or not though.

I usually wait until there's a sale in order to buy. For example FL just ran a 40% sale. I've preferred merino the past several years (Icebreaker, Minus33, and First Light), in several different weights, but I've come to prefer the lightweight stuff as my first layer. I will be trying the poly Airbase stuff this year though.

Yea, I’ve had cheap merino for the past few years and it’s been great. Planning to stick with that (merino in general, not this set specifically)for a base. I was surprised how well the merino worked compared to the U/A stuff I paid 3x for.

I think it would be worth it. Have seriously considered having my base bottoms modified for that very reason. Mostly because I still have not figured out how to properly use this freakin thread injector.

I have been buying scent lok or scent blocker from their clearance section. I have gotten most pieces 50% off and have worked very well for me.

I think it is worth it. I love wool and used merino for years but I like versatility. Especially mid season with variable temps morning and evening, or if I am moving a lot. Just jump on the sales like the one they just had.
