I have 40ft of Sterling C-IV that I have put a triangular quicklink on using a scaffold knot. I have used this setup for a couple years, probably total of 15 all day hunts on it so not a ton of use. I have never untied that scaffold knot that has the quicklink on it. I just recently became a father and taking my safety more seriously. Would it be wise to untie and retie the quicklink on the other end of the rope? Just wondering if having that knot sit there for years would degrade the rope strength. I actually use a grigri to rappel (backed up with a sterling autoblock) and my grigri looks to be in good shape.
