Iowa Scouting Trip July/August 2022/Sept

With my pictures I try and keep track of movement and wind direction…I’m about to make my first move on Freight Train here back at home for the first time…I’m more concerned with breeding scrapes located close to bedding areas…remember don’t give up on a crosswind that cuts your stand location closer than you like…this buck cruising phase will provide good opportunities for sure but get as close to bedding as possible that’s where does will keep running circles like a rabbit
Yes, this would be almost a bad wind for me seemingly good one for him as I would be set up southwest of his south east travels back to the ridge. My issue is, will he change his access if the wind is different? Some of them do some of them don't it appears.

As I’ve mentioned on many of my set ups…bucks especially are creatures of habit so try and set up where he’s been the most..be ready and don’t draw your bow at the last minute when the time arrives - draw while you can undetected and in anticipation of where you expect him to go

For the record, I've never had one like this on camera before, but here's the giant one. I usually move from my private spot to public when the rut gets going, but I had so many good deer on my private spot I haven't even checked cameras on the public yet.
I had the giant at 80 yards tonight with my muzzleloader tag, but he was on the neighbor's property.

Went out and sat in the middle of a corn field last night. Had a giant and about 65 other deer out in the middle of the field between me and my vehicle. Made a stalk on him and got to about 200 yards. Missed him twice with the muzzleloader. Hopefully I'll get another chance
