Is the narrower JX3 coming soon?

Only one way to find out. If you buy the JX3, you will have it in a week or less, unlike the “others”, you then will have 30 days to return for money back minus return shipping cost if you dont like it and put the analysis paralysis to bed.

This was my view Sunday evening from my JX3 in the the Blue Ridge Mountains. I have used it exclusively for the past two seasons. Carries like a dream on my 57 year old back, and is as comfortable as any climber I have used in the past 30 years.

Thanks for all the input.
AS one can imagine it is very difficult to come to accurate and truthful conclusions based on ZERO hands on experience and pictures only. That is the quandary of buying either saddles or a JX3 most of us will have to buy with no benefit of previous usage. And when it comes right down to it i can ask and receive all the advise and input from those who are absolute saddle experts but in the end only the individual will decide if a saddle will work for them by actually using it which unfortunately requires one purchase not only a saddle but a tether, platform of some kind and lineman's along with it it.
The JX3 comes with everything. Bridge, linesman's, carabiners and tether.

if you have a 54” chest you’ll want the normal size. Yes the seat would match your butt better on a narrower one. But the starting point for the side of the harness would be pulled in an inch on each side. I have a 44” chest, and with full winter clothes the skinny one is barely big enough to let me do what I want. You would be supremely uncomfortable with the side straps digging into your sides. In fact, I’d get the new style with the “wings” given the measurements.

the skinny solves a problem 90% of people don’t have. Of the other 10%, only half probably care. We should’ve never mentioned it.
So you have tried the skinny? I didn't think they were available yet.

"I’d get the new style with the “wings”". What are you referring to here? I thought there was only 2 styles available. Either a used Gen 1 or a new Gen 2.

narrower version is a prototype. They aren’t available, and likely won’t be anytime soon.

the version john is currently selling has the new custom mold for the back frame - it incorporates the wings to adjust the width of harness out an inch or more on each side.

there is the original version, which had very slight hardware tweaks over the first 18 months or so they were available. And then the new version that’s been available this season. Going forward - that’s the hybrid you’ll get indefinitely. Unless more of you fools stop pretending it isn’t the best thing ever and buy a bunch so john can retire - and build custom hybrids with carbon fiber amd special dimensions and what not!

I have the Gen 2 I got 2 months ago but I didn't realize there was any adjustability for the harness. I'm a 40" chest with 29" waist so I think a slim would be great. Does the Gen 2 come with the harness already in or out? Do you still have the prototype slim?

I had the pleasure of having a chat with John a week or so ago. Eventually we got to talking about the “Slim“ version. He told me he had about 100 slim versions but they still needed to be assembled and with COVID reducing the amount of manpower and time he has available. They will not be available in the near future. If he had it available, I would’ve given him my hard earned money without hesitation. His level of customer service and general enthusiasm for the company is very admirable. Plus he shared some of the modularity of the system that will eventually hit the market. All I can say is it will undoubtedly Shake up the market.

When is the slim JX3 being released? I know they just released the gen 2. Will the slim JX3 be a gen 3 or a new model all together? JX3 slim sounds catchy. Can’t wait! I haven’t tried one yet but I’ll definitely hold out for the slim.

This is basically all we know. Possible in the future but who knows. So I wouldn’t count on it any time soon.

Thank you for your experience based very well thought out and written reply.
I'm not joking when I say I wish I could justify let alone afford both a TX5 and a JX3 but I simply can't.
I also realize no matter how much research I do and questions I ask, I can not know if any type of saddle or hybrid system will work for me until I buy one and give it a honest maximum tryout period
I am waiting on being able to order a JX5 because my research combined with my gut is telling me the JX5 design has the highest odds of working for me out if traditional saddle designs.
I could be wrong but the TX5 seams to me as a being designed by a person or persons intimately knowledgeable about not just Saddles but hunting specific Saddles and have taken the time to evaluate all the most popular hunting specific Saddles out there determined what flaws or shortcomings and used this information to design and produce a superior product
At least I hope I am correct in my conclusions about the TX5 VS other Saddles

Are you in VA? I'd love to try one on and actually sit in one before I buy one.
