With my work schedule and home life I haven’t had any time with the Juki building gear but I’ve got a saddle design in my head I want to put together and try out.
Do you guys recommend going with a brushless servo motor and if so is there a certain brand and model you guys like ?

The servo that came with my 1508 NH is super strong and silent. I believe it is available from the Juki website. You’ll want to program it down some, if you don’t that thing flies.

Ok I will check them out thank you
If not gold star has a great brushless 110V servo motor. I also suggest using a positioning synchronizer if you’re going the servo route. It makes sure the needle always stops in the down position which is nice.

I’ll look at those also. I’ve been doing some research and they all kind of look the same at the lower end price point.
I just want something that will slow a machine down for control and will last.
The position synchronizer does look like a handy feature I need to research more into those also.
I’ve spent most of my time behind a machine on a juki 8700 but I’ve recently acquired a 1541 I plan to start using some.
I cut up my materials and mocked up the design with clips to hold it together for now.
It all came together like I had hoped it got me excited about building again.

Is this the gold star model you were talking about?
I couldn’t find anything on juki and servo motors

Well I got it all put together last night and did some test runs for tension setting’s I’m almost ready to go.
The 1541 is a awesome machine and paired with this brushless servo motor I can slow it down as needed and still have the power for multiple heavy layers.
The motor does work great but the
on/off switch on the controller already has went bad I called the company and they are sending me a new one.
Luckily the switch is stuck in the on position so I can unplug to power down.
I hope the motor holds up long term because the slow speed control and how quiet it runs are very nice over what I had.
I hope to get the saddle built and start testing this weekend.

Started working with the 1541 more and it’s a very nice machine I’m enjoying it.
Worked on a interesting concept of how to build a saddle today using only woven webbing for frame and the body.
I originally got the idea with my Anderson sling I always over lapped the two panels so I wanted to try this setup for support over mesh or cordura which stretch over time which places all your weight into the webbing frame on long sets.
It took a few tries to find the correct length for each individual strap to distribute the weight but I’m happy with the end result.
I’ll go ahead and finish it with belt, lineman’s loop, etc. tomorrow.
I don’t know it’s any more comfortable than my other builds yet but I hope for longer sets it shows more overall support but time will tell.
