Yea, that's pretty awesome! Especially if it's detachable so no extra weight when you don't need it. I use the millennium g100 in my redneck blind which has detachable tripod legs. Having that on the jx3 would be a game changer lol

I have thought about using the JX3 as a "ground" seat by setting the tether low, in fact, I have hunted like this one time. I hadn't thought about the versatility in the mountains. .. great idea. THANKS

@Ontariofarmer I am going to work on something. LIke you, I occasionally hit a flat land blind and the incredible comfort of the JX3... I just don't ever really want to leave it at home! HAHA

I have attached myself to a large tree at ground level to hunt turkeys. That works well with a shotgun

Make one of these arms attachable for rifle season and you're all set!

I think you’d be better off strapping they pack to the hybrid. Which would then defeat the purpose of bringing Both. Which I also think there’s no point to.

Why wouldn’t you just use the hybrid? You’ve got me curious

Im not a fan of the idea of just strapping all my layers and pieces of gear to the jx3. I can see my clothing snagging and stuff getting lost on hike in or dropping while climbing. Maybe some diy pouches on the jx3 would help with smaller loose items. I also like having a pack in tree next to me. Makes it easier to get stuff and change layers while in tree with minimum movement.

He is currently not producing the skinny model per my conversation with Jon one week ago. He may not produce it for more than a year. This weight I posted is for the regular size. I’ll caution with the smaller size you cannot open your legs with the smaller hybrid. I like to sit with my legs open for comfort

This was disappointing to read. I’m a stick figure of a man at 6’3” and 185lbs. Had a JX3 for a few days and loved it, just was a tad bit wide for me. If anyone has a slim version prototype they’d like to send my way, I’d be a buyer.

If you’re 6’3, there’s no technical advantage to the narrower hybrid once you’re in the tree. Of course I like the idea of a smaller profile in the woods, and it is a nice thing. But you have to remember most people are 20” or wider.

The only reason I have continued to press john on it is because I think it will benefit shorter people shooting. I still think 90% of folks are just fine with the standard hybrid. Maybe 2 or 3 out of 10 would prefer the smaller model. His focus should be on catching up to the ridiculous number of folks waiting on a saddle. It sounds like he’s rounding the corner on that.

I just requested info. from John. As I get older, the idea of taking a comfortable nap at 20’ appeases me more and more.

That is the big disadvantage. I make too much noise when I snore in a JX 3. But I am sitting very still

I have gotten to the point where I don't have to take off the hybrid unless I'm layering up. I'm pretty sure I can accomplish that in the tree too, but still working out the way to lash layers to it that I can undo and get in front of me in the tree. Getting close. But it can be done. One of my favorite things is just wlaking up to a tree and climbing. It took a while to get dialed in. For now, when it's cold and I have to layer, I get dressed and ready to climb a couple hundred yards from tree.
Can you walk me through your process to do this?

If someone has modded a hip belt and upgraded buckles how do you attach?

condor battle belts allow you to strap the sides to the belt and leave the back in front of the seat. I think thats the best already built option at this point. I’m probably going to sew in proper padding on mine soon

I one stick climb. I just walk up to the tree and start climbing. When I carry layers I put them in the hybrid with my stick. When I open the hybrid on my back I grab the stick and the layers. I attach the stick to the tree and I tie the layers around my waist and climb. That is how I do it and it works for me.

Has anyone tried the lone wolf hand climber with the jx3

I used the LW all season with my JX 3. I did the Adreana mod on the LW, and climbing is pretty easy. Once I get close to climbing height I install a screw in step at 3 and 9 o’clock and then maneuver the LW strap just above the steps. The steps aren’t necessary, but I’m 6’ 5” and appreciate the extra foot positions afforded by the steps combined with the LW as a platform. I’m looking to lighten my pack weight some more so I plan on trying one sticking between now and next season.

Whew! What a read. I'm about to pull the trigger on a JX3. I started this season with a used Guidos and quickly sold it due to it being a sauna in warm weather. It looks like the JX3 fixed all of that. The reason I'm drawn to the Hybrid is it looks like a great meat hauler. I also use a LWHC, and it's just simply too wide for most packs. Has anyone hauled a quartered deer and a LWHC at the same time? Seems like I'd have to move the LWHC to the outside and keep the game bags inside. Think there's enough room for both inside? Thanks for all this great information, and kudos to @kyler1945 for these great videos here.
