John Tucker’s Tactisaddle

Been using this saddle everyday for a week now. It’s the best most versatile saddle out of the mantis and the home made Wraptor. I use a ring of steps keep my tether at head height and have sat for hours. I am mostly a leaner but sitting is just as comfortable. Having the bottom strap adjustable is what makes it so nice. Also there is no sliding up.

Well just got my taticsaddle in the mail today. Took about two weeks from the time I placed an order until it came in the mail. I’ll be the first to say that I am new to saddle hunting and will be doing it exclusively for the first time this year. I’ve been waiting for this market to blow up like it has since the end of Trophyline because now people have options and can get into this style of hunting. I dove head in with a mantis saddle and all the fixn’s except for the predator platform. I love Tethrd/G2 Outdoors and what they have done if it wasn’t for them I would never of bought a saddle because I didn’t know of this site or any other saddle companies. I hunted out of the mantis during turkey season but just couldn’t get it to stop from riding up my backside. The leg straps dug in my crotch so much and hindered me from climbing I ended up cutting them off and adjusting the micro fit adjusters all the way up and kept my tether low to prevent this. I didn’t want to give it up because of how light it was. I eventually went to Dan O’s site and bought his D hooks to make a Wraptor sling in hopes to have a back up and something maybe a little more comfortable. It’s nice but I’m no seamstress and didn’t trust my abilities at 20’ up. But when I configured the straps so that they only supported my back and under my butt did I feel a better level of comfort and it didn’t slide up anymore. So I figured I was good to go into this hunting season until I saw the video that got severely bashed on this site about the tactisaddle. Frankly I was disappointed to see this reaction especially from people who claimed to of never watched the whole video or even tried it out. So let me clear the air but first say I do not know John Tucker only spoke to him once on the phone and I am not doing this on anyone’s behalf except those thinking of getting one. This will defiantly be the saddle I will be hunting out of from now on and will buy another in the future for a back up. As he states in his video there is NO binding NO discomfort and most importantly it stays in its place and doesn’t ride up an inch. I don’t know what else to say other than in my opinion he has done it for me and light weight saddle hunting. I can wear the legs straps and walk freely to and up my tree and then adjust the bottom strap under my butt and sit comfortably with only a 14” bridge. It is WELL made with heavy duty stitching and webbing. I feel very confident wearing this because of how professionally made it looks. I want to end by saying let’s not rush into judging something until it has been tried by you personally and keep an open mind in this quickly growing style of hunting. Again this is just my opinion and am I in no way saying that one company it better than another. I think it is great for us to finally have different companies with different products. I orderd one about 4 days ago. John seems to be a seasond hunter that he new what he was talking about with saddles. Plus i like Traditional bowhunting and wilderness pdcast. Jason is spot on with what he uses.

I have been using John Tucker's saddle for two weeks and it is very comfortable and quality made saddle. I hunt out of LW stands most of the time but this saddle will be my new buck bed set up from now on! Thank You John Tucker
What type of platform are you using?

I’m kind of intrigued by this saddle. I’d love to try one of these before purchasing. I’m tired of buying stuff and then figuring out it’s not for me.

Mine came last week but I've been working so I haven't had a chance to fully "test" it on a hunt. I did hang in it at ground level for awhile playing with it and can say it is minimalistic as far as weight and bulk go and having the ability to move the "butt strap" to find the right location for support and comfort is a nice feature. The one thing I found I don't like the way the webbing bridge feels sliding thru the tether carabiner so I'm planning to swap it out to an 8mm Oplux bridge.

I just released a podcast I did with him. It’s “Bowhunting Soul” on most podcast apps. Also have a couple videos on my YouTube channel (same name).

Thanks for the review great job. Can't wait to hear a follow up after multiple uses in the field.

Live from the tree with the tactisaddle
Got 5+ hrs so far split between sitting and leaning. Have most of my weight on lower strap, been moving it every now and then to find the sweet spot. Wore it on walk in and didn't notice it was there. Was ez to one stick climb, it never wanted to ride up my back unlike another saddle I own. It's a keeper in my book.

I’m a new saddle hunter and the tactisaddle is my first saddle. I love it but I cannot get comfortable. I tried different tether heights and different bridge lengths. I’m 6ft 170 lbs. No matter what I do it rides up and causes hip pinch. The only way I can get somewhat comfortable is to lower tether to chest height but then I’m too far from the tree. If I shorten bridge to get closer I get hip pinch. If I raise tether above chest height and lengthen bridge the pinch goes away but then it rides up. Does anyone have any advice or solutions?

Really enjoying the tactisaddle.
One question. Can you guys tighten up the waist buckle by pullng or do you have unlock adjust and lock again. Mine wont budge. Same on leg straps
